Hi mate these documents are on the website under 'postal agreements' i think. Probably the best thing to do those is to email the H&S department at CWU HQ and ask them for a CD ROM of all relevant H&S agreements!! - They'll send it and then you can store them on pc for whenever you ned them........ and it saves having masses of paper documents everywhere

Mind you having said that mate the agreements you have asked for are not really Health and Safety agreements on the whole. Are you sure you are not just keeping an eye on your unit rep :Very Happy

In that case don't call the H&S department call the DGSP department and ask for a disk of all postal agreements

Simply agree with lovejoy on this one. Best to learn so please take some friendly and well intended advice don't encroach on your I.R. Reps areas of responsibility (Industrial Relations) likewise make it clear to him or her that you will brook no interference from him or her on your areas of responsibility namely health and safety. However, do try to forge a great working relationship with your fellow representative as you are both there to representing your CWU members best interests.

If i was you i would not even attempt to get involved in IR, MTSF, attendance/conduct/harassment cases until you have had the relevant training.

It is so easy to mean well and think you are helping a member but you can drop somebody right in it if you have not been trained and know how to use the agreements.

I know you can hold both positions, but I thought only IR reps dealt with IR issues?

That is how I see it as well brother Fluke,

Certainly you are correct that throughout Royal Mail there are many a CWU Rep who hold joint IR & Health & Safety positions. However, I work under the adage that you cannot devote 100% effort in doing the two positions as they are in the first instance voluntary and unpaid and they most certainly can at times be very time consuming.
