As night follows day. We are in dispute with the employer over a paltry pay offer and at ballot over unacceptable changes to terms and conditions.
“Royal Mail Board have announced that RM are pressing ahead with 551 Table top revisions that they want deployed by Oct this year and a further 50 Structural revisions that they want deployed by Q4 2023.
They are also planning to introduce a number of dedicated parcel duties linked to the 346 parcel hub plans. The ROD"s will be briefed today on this and subsequently they will more than likely contact the Divisional reps to advise us accordingly.
It is imperative that our response is in line with LTB 323 / 22 and we advise our reps to frustrate RM as much as possible using the IR Framework and their local knowledge of what has to be done. RM are not offering a reduction in the SWW however, this should not be the sole reason for going to disagreement.
We have to ensure the ROD's know in no uncertain terms we fundamentally disagree with RM's position on this and that their actions are a breach of the Pathway to Change Agreement.”
In line with this the Divisional Reps have this morning written to the ROD Scotland withdrawing our cooperation from this process. We have asked Reps to immediately enter the dispute process.
In addition we have heard today that RM are to recruit 2,400 Agency workers to work in their designated parcel hubs, assured of 20 hours per week work. (RM who profess to be skint).
Of course we respect all workers in the workplace but we will not cooperate in setting up these duties.
Please contact your Workplace Rep for further advice.

Re: Withdrawal of cooperation: Scotland Division
The Divisional Reps have met this morning with the RM ROD to discuss the Executive Action taking place under national instruction from RM HQ.
We have informed RM today that we have instructed CWU Reps and members that we are under no obligation to cooperate in any way since they are in deliberate contravention of our National Agreements.
The proposals involve a major cut in services to the customer linked to a severe reduction in your terms and conditions.
The strength of the CWU lies in our network of workplace Reps and we have arranged for every Rep to be briefed on the current impasse.
We do not need any reaction that will aid RM and/or jeopardise our current ballot. Unity is Strength.

Re: Withdrawal of cooperation: Scotland Division
i think this is exactly what they are hoping for woody. to provoke staff into wildcats in the hope of invalidating the ballot and thereby getting the courts backing. but i would've thought if THEY themselves are invoking unagreed changes then surely they are in breech of agreements making them just as blameworthy? not that the courts would see it that way.
