But if you are covered under the Equality Act then whatever work is available in the CSP (reduced hours opening, booking in etc etc) will be yours and "the existing staff" will need to be redeployed?greengiant wrote: ↑25 Jul 2022, 16:19
Because if the CSP is closing 3 hours earlier each day, then that'll give more time for existing staff to deal with booking in p739s.
So if someone is doing that, as well as covering the CSP staff breaks (as a equality act redeployment), that'll probably mean that individual out of a job.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

This is suppose to start on August 8th giving people 2 weeks notice to arrange their affairs due to the change of opening hours. There is no firm plan what duties or roles they are being given, clashcityrocker wrote: ↑25 Jul 2022, 16:06You can't have a redeployment into a role that is disappearing.
If people aren't using the CSP point then nobody is going to be working in there.
Given all the other tasks that the CSP staff are doing, why is anyone going to lose their job?
Once these duty's go the hours are lost to that office.
As stated plenty of times the CSP is not just for picking up parcels don't fall into the Royal Mail spin. When a lapsed walk doesn't go out for a number of days where do think the customer goes to pick up their mail, there are plenty of other work that they do and remember these figures being used by royal mail are from Jan - Mar 22 October 21 to Dec 21 not the three months before xmas.
The roles are going because the opening hours are being reduced, some of the other work can be farmed out to other members of staff.
We need to stick together when Royal Mail is trying to divide people.

Are roles definitely going to be lost to this? And if so it's incredibly poor to be given 2 weeks notice, or less.
As stated, there is so much more that the locker staff do than answer the door every 5 minutes.
Are backshift CSP roles that solely work in CSP (say, 2-8pm 5 days a week on roughly 30 hours) a common thing?
Our later times, until now, have always been staffed on OT, and whilst that would be bad to lose for those that do it and the office in general, it would be so much worse for contracted hours to go.

We've only one member of staff running our CSP and I assume he works full time hours at present, it'll be a shock to him if his hours are now suddenly cut with just a week's notice!Cucumber wrote: ↑25 Jul 2022, 17:36Are roles definitely going to be lost to this? It's in the bottom link of the LTB post-I have marked it with *** it has to be downloaded for you to open it.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Well Grant inflights are going to have to be more dynamic. We’ll need a ‘just leave it at the depot’ option for folk that know they won’t be in. So much time wasted taking chunky parcels to terraces where no one is in.
