Finally got my referral, doctor confirmed I met the criteria and qualify to leave the business with a lump sum.

Since then I’ve heard absolutely nothing because, I’m told, the manager dealing with my case is some sort of area boss following a restructure and he’s got too many IHR cases on at the moment so “isn’t in any rush”. As if that’s a reason.

Sod it, I’m phoning the branch rep tomorrow.

I know what your going through. Iv been of sick for over 2 years now. Over 1 year on zero pay luckily I’m on pip and universal credit and that has been helping me a little to get along with things and that was a mission in itself to receive.

So 2 years of sick handing in regular sick notes, I was keeping in contact with management ( as you should ) but more recently I just can’t keep up anymore, due to medications changing. I suffer from depression and anxiety. Iv had around 8 OHS appointments during this time of sick from work. More recently the last 2 times OHS telling me I’m unfit to work and won’t be returning to work in the foreseeable future and they Royal Mail should be looking at other avenues to resolving my sickness. I have been deemed disabled under the disability act. More recently in June had another OHS referral and she was just angry as to why they were keep referring me when they was told the last time I won’t be returning to work in the foreseeable future and look to resolve this another way.

Literally after that appointment one month past and no contact at all from management. So I texted him but no reply nothing. Complete joke. So I spoke to union rep who said they would chase it up for me. But this has been a complete an utter shambles. My health has worsened during this time and I told them time and time again I just wanted this resolved so I can move on and focus on my health. Even a few months back management was telling me just hand in your resignation it will be easier for you , luckily union stopped me and told me not to do it this way.

So maybe you have got off lightly, I don’t even know what’s going on.

are you wanting ill health retirement? if so then before ur next OH meeting ask your manager and talk about i heath retirement. say it's something you think it's time for and they should include that in notes for your next OH meeting . OH cant always recommend it without the words coming from royal mailf first

Did'nt think you could ask for ihr thought ohs doctor was only person who could recommend.

Only thing i can say is ask on your next ohs apt is ask can you considered to be refered to ohs doctor for his/ her opinion.

Yeah I will do. Because nothing is happening, just going round and round in circles. I’m not sure what even management wants to do or what ideas he’s got in his head but this is torture.

Just athought, because I have absolutely no idea in the matter, but have you tried Union Line and trying to bring RM to court?

Is it an option?

Would it work?

ohs doctor might be able to but in what i know you often wont get a doctor ull get a nurse and they cannot mention ill health retirement. best thin can do is tell your manage its something u want to be considered for. t

Afaik you can ask the nurse to refer you to speak to ohs doctor.

Waited for phone call Thursday 8.30 very anxious but I had support with me.At 8:16 had text saying its cancelled and OH had been unable to get hold of me.My rep not happy ,my manager not I was fuming...So much for the support.My Dr's not happy about it.

Out of interest what’s the quickest amount of time from anybody has been offered ill health retirement then actually left through it?

I have now had confirmation from OH that I can leave business with lump sum.It also states leaving with income support are not meet.Any ideas. Will ask my rep tomoz.
