That's going to be a big drop in workload for SD lockers on night shifts in MCs, don't know if it'll end up with a reduction in staff in SD lockers on night shifts. tbf I'm surprised that this hadn't already happened as once an item reaches the destination country, there's no way that the sending postal operator or the receiving postal operator can guarantee how long it'll take

Not for the guys in the locker, that's a whole chunk of work gone.
What difference did it make to the rest of us?
It's not as if they were time sensitive.

They need to go SD because there is a fee to be paid and they need to be logged to stop any fraud, the packets never go out on delivery unless/until the fee has been paid remotely. If they are given to the postie there's a chance they would pocket the money or deliver without any fee being paid.

Is this a large or small % of work that goes to SD locker's?
Would this work go to tracked work areas and/or PCM's?

Depending on how big a % of the total work that it forms for the night shift in MC SD lockers, it could mean the removal of 1 or more duties from the SD lockers.

Apart from the customs charge ones they'll go to the Tracked area of your MC, if your MC has a PSM then they'll go to that instead. The customs charge ones better be sent as direct bags, otherwise in MCs where they have a PSM they risk ending up going through as normal Tracked

They defiantly won’t be getting a rfd scan on the sorting, they will be chucked in the (hopefully) correct Mini York along with the other non tracked.

In our MC SD locker this is a reduction of between 2000 & 3000 a night. That would equate to loosing about 5 or 6 duties. The charge items are only 200 items a night maximum frequently a lot less, sometimes we get non during a week.

If that happens, it won't be long before your COM gets a bollocking from higher up. From the 1st August they become Tracked so any issues could go against your office's Tracked failure rate

Wow your SD Locker must be over staffed if 3000 items equates to 5 or 6 duties and if our Locker is anything to go by the amount of Foreign Tracked that counts as SD work is more like 60% to 75% of the workload

Once this comes in, I don't think any DOs will get any SDs on their early runs any more, probably won't be enough sorted SDs to justify the space on a 600 when the same space taken by a part filled sleeve of SDs could be used for a full sleeve or york of Tracked
