When you're in the DO the actuals (in theory) will see you as being within the geo-fenced area. Also depending on how long it is between when you get back and the end of the shift, the PDA will auto log-out anyway

Start on time,
Take your meal breaks.
Keep bags weights inline with safety limits.
Use a trolley were possible and necessary or cut bag weights down.
Scan everything and scan everything on the doorstep not as you walk down the street or at the back of the van when you take it out.
Don't write cards out in the office beforehand do it on the doorstep.
Don't take short cuts over gardens or walls (trolley usually stops that) walk up and down all driveways and paths to properly log time and distances accumulated out on delivery.
Do all van checks required.
Don't run/jog out on delivery.
Don't log out of your PDA till the very second your about to leave the building after signing out. You're still working when back at the D.O. doing returns and kill off etc.
Report all issues to managers as it's their job not yours to make decisions. Always keep the ball and pressure in their court.
Cover yourselves at all times because there's statistics statistics and damned lies.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I actually very much doubt you do. What you probably can do is proficiently bend the stats to suit a certain agenda, in this case to the company narrative. If you were a professor and knew your stuff then you wouldn't be working for such clowns as Simon Thompson.POSTMAN wrote: ↑10 Jul 2022, 16:10Fannybaws wrote: ↑10 Jul 2022, 10:42When you see them turning out stuff like this I standby what I've always said.

Just a thought - how many letters and parcels do you need to deliver just to pay Royal Mail's chief data and analytics officer. This is where all the hard earned money goes!!!! Millions of pounds disappearing into the pockets of people with fancy job titles who actually have no long term interest in the company's future. Makes you laugh, these no marks turn up for a year or two and tell the people who've invested their whole working life into the company that they're the problem!!!!

Don't confuse the issue, I think it should be a pic of Benny Hill as Fred Scuttle

Re: RMCtv : No cut offs - ever - You take it out - you deliver it all.
Is Royal Mail really employing people in some office somewhere to look at PDA data and try to give us more work? - how many people and how much are they paying them?....
Does Royal Mail not understand that most Posties will skip their breaks, some will start early, cut across lawns, door step parcels, rush around, take all sorts of shortcuts......basically because they have to in order to finish within their times. On top of this taking 2 days mail at least once a week.
Royal Mail is getting more than their moneys worth.
You don't need to be spending money on these PDA Data Analysts. If anything they are more likely to cause problems, adding work to rounds which are already correct in size or too big. Posties are typically back early because they have skipped their breaks and rushed round.

Do the PDA Actuals tell these goons when you have 3 days mail in the frame , I very much doubt it
Also our staff has dropped by the same amount as their spreadsheets.
Didnt see our working load spreadsheet when we was working during the pandemic showing we were taking out 3 times as much parcels ....funny that, they must have forgot

I'd imagine that they'd know that there's 3 days worth of mail in the frame provided that any failures are being recorded properly on whatever system they get recorded on
