Royal Mail launches leadership training academy

Royal Mail has launched its training academy in the UK to equip managers with skills to better meet the changing demands of customers.

The site will host a mix of in-person and virtual live training sessions focused on leadership and technical skills. Frontline operational managers will be the first to experience the learning facility before it is opened to the wider management team in the following months. The academy will be part of Royal Mail’s Midlands Super Hub in Daventry, which, when operational in 2023, will process more than one million parcels a day and provide an environment for employees to collaborate and learn in person. Royal Mail employees are already able to access a suite of online courses through the post’s digital academy.

The academy will be supported by five satellite learning centers in the UK, in Edinburgh, Warrington, Bristol, Gatwick and Oxford. In 2021 and 2022, Royal Mail invested £6m (US$7.2m) in training. This equates to approximately 23,000 training days, compared with 19,000 training days the previous year. The center has been designed to support a culture of continuous learning so the business can grow and win in a competitive market.

Zareena Brown, chief people officer at Royal Mail, said, “We are investing in our people to deliver an ambitious program of change across the business so that we can stay competitive today and into the future. Our new academy will provide best-in-class training and ensure that our managers have the right skills to accelerate our transformation to better meet customers’ changing demands.”

Wasn't that the purpose of original Coton House and Coryton House, namely management training?
Shame the attendees still ended up fitting the old cliche, ie "posties without bikes".

Hahah, very adequate meme. :thumbup

Serious looney bin those up top. It feels perfectly like deja vu now, a company i used to work for walked the same path as what Simon's club are doing. The old CEO came into that business with experience that was totally different to what the company i worked for operated in. I'm sure you can guess how that worked out.
