Capita pension query

Post by Chimps_tea_party »

I joined the Post Office as a Postal Officer in 1980 and retired from Royal Mail in 2018 as an OPG with reserved LA1 rights. I've queried the amount of pension that I receive from the part of the pension that's administered by Capita as it appears to be very low compared with my final salary pension. Capita have told me the amount is correct but I'd like to challenge that as they've not shown me how why they think the amount is correct.

Can I escalate my query to Royal Mail as I'd prefer to have a second opinion from them rather than a company that has had a reputation for inefficiency?

Thank you.

My personal opinion is that RM wouldn't be interested and would just refer you back to Capita.

Therefore I think you should follow Capita's complaints procedure:
https://www.royalmailsps.co.uk/contact- ... -complaint

*Capita pay out benefits up to 31st March 2012, so includes the vast majority of NRA60(up to 2010) and the first 2 years of NRA65.
RMPP also pay out a small amount of NRA60, plus the other 6 years of NRA65.
