90% of my DO start early. Most clearing in their packets 10-20 mins early.A couple start up to 45 mins before they should.I start BANG on time and let my Dom tell me what to do.Get told, sort your packets,d2d in Frame, then letters. All in 10 mins before I am told to go on the sorting.Dream on guvnor.
You ask your DOM how to do your duty, *every day*?

Have I misunderstood or something?

I get in 20 mins before i start.Sign in then make a brew.Don't touch a single item until my start time. For the life of me i can not understand why they do it.
So you'd sooner have a brew at work than the comfort of your home. Strange. Each to their own.
No.I would rather be at home but if I catch a later bus i would be late everyday.

No.You have not misunderstood.I tell him if i am going to struggle to complete that day and then he will tell me to prioritise the tracked. Then letters.I put the ball in his court. We keep getting told in work time learning we are not paid to think. That way,I cover my own arse.

OK. Fair enough.

Seems a bit extreme to me. Personally I just crack on, then when prepped tell the Lino if I won't complete and what does he / she want me to prioritise.

Off topic a little. If the PRI hasnt been signed off regarding revisions , are they limited costwise etc to how much they can change the messed up duties ? The only way our office will work again is to go back pre revision on some duties. Looks like they are saying they cant afford this , but overtime , mail being left every day due to an awful revision is costing them a lot more .

Why do the majority of folk assume that everyone travels by car ,the real reason why public
transport in this country is so poor is because we as a nation have become so lazy we won't
walk for a bus or train and have to have a car even for the shortest of journeys  rant over.

It’s a silly circle isn’t it, people don’t use public transport as much in some areas because it’s so poor, so they rely on their car, then even if public transport is improved they are so used to the car they stick with it.

My nearest ‘active’ bus stop is 2.5 miles away and the buses don’t start until gone 6am meaning I run the risk of being late if it’s delayed or cancelled. There are 2 buses a day which go past my house but the earliest one would get me to work 3 hours late. I have no room for a bike at home so I either walk 6 miles to work (which I have done on occasion) or drive.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

The last few days have been a challenge in that heat, but the combination of heat with high humidity today was just too much with the workload we had. No time for lapsing and not enough time to complete, but hey ho, the remainder of the weekend is here and Monday is another day. :whistle

Another good day today. Back at office for 12:45, with nothing left in the office to be sent back out with. Stayed to do tomorrow’s and wednesday’s d2d and now back at home gardening.

I'm expecting a possible surge in packets through the system this week with the rail strikes, people not being able to go to work/school/college

Very hot one, again, absolutely no chance of having time for the lapsing on a typically busy Weds with less than an 8 hour day. Had to bring back letters for last couple of roads, ran out of time.
