Cleveland Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash-cam or CCTV footage to come forward
Police are appealing for information after a man threatened post office workers with a machete and stole a substantial amount of cash from the till in Grangetown on Saturday.
The incident took place at Whale Hill Post Office on Birchington Avenue at around 7pm on June 4. Nobody was injured but workers were left shaken.
The suspect is described as white, around 6 feet tall, of medium build and wearing a head covering with holes for the nose, eyes and mouth. He had a black plasticky coat with the hood up - which has been described as black at the top and fading into grey further down - and was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and black gloves.
Cleveland Police have asked anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or has dash-cam or CCTV footage to contact them on the 101 number, quoting reference number 095328. Witnesses can also pass information on anonymously to independent crime charity Crimestoppers online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by phoning them on 0800 555 111.
