Appointment of a Non-Executive Director
Royal Mail plc (the Company) is pleased to announce that Jourik Hooghe has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Company, to take effect from 1 June 2022. Jourik will also become a member of the Company's Nomination and Audit and Risk Committees from this date.
Jourik is currently Executive Vice President and Group Chief Financial Officer of Wizz Air Holdings Plc (Wizz Air). He has extensive financial, accounting, operations and strategy experience in consumer goods and retail businesses. Prior to Wizz Air, Jourik held various finance roles at Procter & Gamble, including coverage across Europe, India, China, Middle East and Africa. He also spent time at Adecco Group, where he transformed the finance and accounting function into a data and technology driven organisation.
Jourik's appointment is a further step in refreshing and strengthening the Board, in particular bringing relevant international and finance experience.
Jourik said: "I am very pleased to be joining the Board of Royal Mail plc. I look forward to working with Keith Williams, the Board and management at this interesting time in its journey."
Keith Williams said: "On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to welcome Jourik to Royal Mail. He brings strong international, strategic, financial and accounting expertise. I'm sure Royal Mail will greatly benefit from his experience and we look forward to working with him".

The man holds a senior position at Wizz Air Holdings - a company I had to Google as I had never heard of them.
Anyway if Keith is happy to have him on board I am happy as well.

f***ing hilarious though that Simon wants to stop the planes now, maybe we could have got a discount...Wizz Air is well known for a strong opposition to any activities of its employees in trade unions.Because of that approach to its employees the company is facing many accusations. One of the first cases was already closed by the Romanian supreme court in 2019 with a verdict that Wizz Air discriminated against its workers Other cases blaming Wizz Air for a similar attitude against its employees are still open in Ukraine and other countries. In October 2020, the Prime Minister of Norway stated she would not fly with Wizz Air after the company resumed its flights in the country.

Ere,, Keith, get us some more directors in that have worked in companies that have tried to destroy workers’ rights. Yeah, the more tribunals and court cases against them the better.
