Re: Offices 'officially' in trouble?
It's a joke to describe just 9 offices as being in trouble with the way the company is now being run. We are instructed to do lapsing in favour of streaming mail......and lots of staff do this rather than work extended in my office.....not to mention whole deliveries not even going out because we're understaffed. Hundreds, often thousands, of items are not delivered every day where I work and we are now told that we won't be recruiting because mail volumes are falling and higher ups have instructed our managers to double the number of lapsing duties.....more streaming and undelivered mail, in other words. It isn't that long ago that a single letter accidentally left in a frame while bundling up would see a postie in my unit in the manager's office defending his/herself on a charge of wilful delay. This company is a complete fraud.

From the gal who recently got sacked...
RMC tv : RMtv : How do we achieve a better balance between cost and quality? : Weighted items per work hr

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Between 6 and 11 duties out of 65 are not going out daily in our office.
Not working your day off gives a 50/50 chance a double load when you are back, triple load if it was your long weekend.
Always told to pritloritise Tracked and packets over letters - the RM/CWU joint statement saying otherwise just made the corporate lie bigger.
At least 7 vacancies with no new starters for around 6 months.

Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

I know we need a lot of new staff, but if I go onto the Royal Mail jobs website there are no jobs listed for our delivery office.fb1969 wrote: ↑23 Mar 2022, 17:15Between 6 and 11 duties out of 65 are not going out daily in our office.

Just look around you and see how many jobs need to be filled in your delivery office, then go and see if there are any adverts for jobs at your delivery office on the RM jobs website.
A clear sign that they purposefully understaff offices?
