It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

That's essentially what the device used in MCs is, just a mounted tablet computer. With this "proposed solution" I can see the PDA being removed and used for a delivery

At Plymouth where it's being trialed it's stuck on a sorting rame.

If they're being located within the building at DOs it seems crazy for RM to not just use ones that are identical to the ones used in MCs

How much wall space is there where the signing on sheets are? RM could possibly just mount it sideways and tweak the orientation what's displayed on the thing

So... Obviously if the bulk of the office start at the same time nobody will want to scan in early/late or scan out early... So isn't there going to be a bit of a queue?

I'm just guessing really but I know someone who works in a place where scanning in is the norm and if they're more than 2 minutes late the system doesn't even let them scan in they have to go straight to the naughty room and explain themselves..

What do you do if you turn up on time but there's a queue of peeps all waiting to scan in because the guy at the front is trying to scan his library card?

15 minutes flex is usually allowed in most companies, everywhere ive worked with siso you simply make sure you arrive 5 minutes before time that was in a building of 150 staff. never ever scan out until 1 minute past when you should go as they will ask why were you standing at the siso machine dead on time?
