Hi all, my 1st post, sorry if not in the right forum but I have a question....
I am starting as a postie again next month (previously been a postie 2 years ago) on a full time temp 3 month contract, leaving my current full time office job. I hear today shockingly from my postman that all posties will be changed from full time to part time contracts at some point?? is he right and has anyone got any advice on what happens after my 3 months temp contract? the manager who interviewed me said it could be full time after 3 months... When I worked at RM before it was a perm contract from the start, I loved being a postie but worry about what my postie tells me.
What he may have meant is that they seem to be trying to get rid of as many FT front-line posties as cheaply as possible and getting as many as possible 20hour PT as its cheaper for them. (As even if you work 40 - 80 hours per week when you are on holiday they only pay you your contracted hours )

hi everyone i'm new to this and probably in the wrong forum but here goes. when picking up mail from businesses, i'm not sure which item, letter, parcel ect. goes in which colour sack. I'm just starting so i could do with a bit of help. Thanks.

Open mail ie. from post boxes goes in the red bags and everything else goes in the grey bags. Any specials go in green bags but they should be only done by the locker.

all new contracts are for partime any full time contracts are very few and far between in my office there have been
no fulltime contract for over a year.
