A road in Merseyside has reportedly received mail just three times in more than three weeks.
Residents of Brookside Avenue in Waterloo have been left bewildered over the lack of mail, with one man on the road saying that he doesn't know when he's going to get his post.
Laurie Tighe claimed he has only had three lots of post delivered to his home since December 14, with a different postman doing the round each time.
He claims the issue has affected the entire street.
The 80-year-old told the ECHO : "We had mail on Tuesday December 14, we didn't have anything then until the 20th. I know it was then the holiday period but it was then the 30th. Even before the pandemic, the mail has been hit and miss.
"At one time we used to have the same postman, now I couldn't identify them. We have a different postman every day."
Laurie continued: "I couldn't say to you when we get the mail. It can vary from mid-morning to mid-afternoon, we've even had mail at 5.30pm on a Saturday evening. If you were waiting for something important you couldn't say 'oh, I'll wait to go out till 10 o'clock' if it was an important letter or something but we are hanging around into the evening.
"There's not as many people receiving mail these days and I know the post office has a heavy burden at Christmas but at one time they used to have extra staff. They don't seem to have had that this time and they don't seem to have had that for a number of years."
He admits to not "waiting on tenterhooks" each day for his mail but claims that the flow of mail is not consistent in the area.
He said: "I mean, I don't expect an awful lot of post and there are very few occasions where I'm waiting on a letter.
"Over the last week or so I was waiting to go to the building society but I wouldn't say every week I'm sitting on tenterhooks waiting for an important letter because I'm not. The general flow of the mail is up and down."
Royal Mail was approached for comment.
