Strange Tracking Updates

Hi, I’ve got a package coming from the USA whose tracking has gone weird.

Its tracking number is LZ225007305US

I’ve had several packages from the same people and my address is correct on the label but this one seems to have glitched.

The last USPS tracking update was: Your item was processed through a facility in UNITED KINGDOM on December 9, 2021 at 12:51 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination.

This was the first of the usual 2 notifications you get saying it has been processed here.

Moving to Royal Mail Tracking, I first got an update saying my package had arrived at South Midlands MC at 01.33 on 10th December which was strange because it should have gone to Birmingham MC.

I have just checked Royal Mail Tracking again tonight and it is now saying “Item received at
United States of America” at 14.47 on 10th December?

I’m aware that tracking numbers are reused but USPS tracking still says “ Your item was processed through a facility in UNITED KINGDOM on December 9, 2021 at 12:51 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination.”

Any ideas?

Thanks for the replies and yes, since I posted it appears to be making its way to me.

I can only assume that the tracking number has already been allocated to another package before mine has completed its journey.
