Special delivery item has no address in the system
I was suposed to receive a special delivery postage on Monday but it wasnt delivered. The item reached Chelmsford mail center and got transferred to delivery center last Saturday but there have been no updates since then. The helpline and the delivery centre employee told me that they have no delivery address in the system - they cant even told me where it is at the moment. I have my travel passport in the envelope and I was supposed to take my family on a holiday next week but these plans seems to have been ruined now. Is there any way to figure out where this item is now and what can be done? Thank you

No delivery address in the system: this is actually quite normal. There are several ways of setting up a special delivery, with some an address is added to RM’s records, with others it isn’t. It shouldn’t affect when / if the parcel is delivered in normal circumstances because RM go by the address written on the parcel, not the computer record.
The package reached Chelmsford delivery office on Saturday. So the key question is: are you expecting this to be delivered to an address in the Chelmsford area?

I highly recommend either visiting or calling the Chelmsford Delivery Office. The item should have been delivered by now, and the Special Delivery Locker may be able to advise why not https://www.royalmail.com/services-near-you#/ for details of your local office.

Thank you all. I visited the office yday but the lady at the counter said she cant help. I went there again and spoke to a different person, and she put an effort and found it with the help of special delivery team. There was an address on the envelope btw, it seems to have got stuck somewhere. What a difference asking another person could make.. I came back and left her a Christmas present. Her name is Ronsley if I am not mistaken. Can anyone tell me how I can leave some feedback for her management to make sure her attitude is rewarded somehow?
