Good day,
I am reading about Langley issues and I am having my parcel stuck there since 18/11/2021. It is however on its way OUT of the UK, so I would not attribute this delay to customs checks. Am I wrong?
Checked with the receiving country postal operator and with Royal Mail - both say the item has not left the UK yet.
Tracking number LP883725228GB. Any help will be appreciated.
Many thanks!

It wouldn’t by stopped by customs. But it might be stopped if RM suspect that it contravenes the destination country customs rules. What is inside and what country is it going to?

Thank you. It is pet food, to Russia. I sent the same products previously (last year), and all was delivered (with huge delays though).

Looking at the list of prohibitions for Russia, it seems that pet food is prohibited. Not that pet food is specifically mentioned, but with meat, cereals and seeds on the list, it’s hard to imagine a form of pet food that would be allowed.

Thank you. So you are not aware of any issues or delays with outgoing post?
As far as I know I am allowed to import up to 5 kg of pet food in manufacturer's packaging for private use without any supporting veterinary documents. My parcel is less than 2 kg. Previous parcels were accepted for import. But I will try to double check with the Russian authorities in case something has changed.

Not with outgoing post beyond the number of flights has reduced because of covid, that would have a negligible impact. Also nothing official for incoming mail for the Russian Postal service, but looking at google there does appear to be some delays reported on Social Media during this year.astrosnail wrote: ↑01 Dec 2021, 09:40Thank you. Update: after exactly 2 weeks my parcel has finally surfaced at the destination side. It appears that it has also cleared customs. I wonder where it spent those 2 weeks, UK or Russia?

Technically neither.
It's impossible to say which side but it was definitely stuck in Customs somewhere. Good to see it moving for you though.
