Weird tracking - very confusing

So i ordered a jacket from china
Seller posted using yanwen courier which changes to royal mail in the uk
Tracking was fine till 2 days ago reached local mail centre 2 miles from my house
Now apparently its been delivered at 4:02am 200 miles away from my address?

Any help?

We don't deliver at 4am so I think tracking has stopped because of an incorrect delivery scan. I think they should have scanned it as missorted.

There is a chance it will be delivered over the next few days but I am not certain if it will actually show any scans.

I'm wondering if there's possibly a customs charge, either that or the recipient has a PO BOX or a retention is in place are the only possibilities that I can think of based on the last couple of scan entries

Any chance it got sent into heathrow at that time?
And any idea why it got sent from preston to greenford mc?

A very slim chance but highly unlikely it got sent to Heathrow unless it had a Chinese address on the front.

Human error is probably the reason it got sent south.

You could check via Google to see if there is a similar address in Hayes, and it might be worth checking with the sender to make sure they had the correct tracking number, and correct address, and linked both correctly.

Beyond that, you could try twitter @royalmailhelp or their call centres - they have access to an Admin tracking system that has more details than the public ones we use on here.

Royalmail twitter are saying its been sent to heathrow but they dont seem to really know what they are talking about
Any idea of how to get an actual real person on the phone line? I keep getting the automated service followed by “check the website for more info”

the phone line is horrendous all you can do is wait on the line and eventually a human will answer. When I did it it took nearly an hour, at this time of year and with all the delays it could be longer.
