coming back to work after COVID

After a bad bout of Covid DOM seems to think I am going to go straight back to a 15 mile slog straight away.
What have people in a similar position done when going back. Have you gone on light duties for a week ?

Have seen plenty in mc put on rehab for at least a few weeks. suppose it depends on how long you were out an severity of how covid affected you.

Sounds like your DOM is the bullying type.
Follow your intuition ,only you know what you are capable of doing.

Some People take weeks to recover ,some never fully recover .Personally ,I would not return until 85% fit then do a phase return.

Your GP will be more than sympathetic and will issue a fit note.

Covid is a serious disease and just because Joe Bloggs thought catching Covid was no worse than a hangover,
doesn’t mean it’s back to normal after Day 10 for others.

Definitely agree that you should take your time and only go back once you’re ready, and preferably start with lighter duties. After I was very ill with Covid I definitely went back to work too early (nothing to do with managers, it was my own fault as I underestimated how much it would continue to affect me for several weeks afterwards) and really struggled with work on return, even trying to go slowly/steadily. With hindsight I wish I had taken a few more weeks off to recover.

If your not feeling 100% you don’t go back, you have everything in your favour, your just a number, enjoy you break & think of all those days off you’ve asked for & not been given.
