IT'S GREAT news that a former Barrow Post Office is up for sale.

The property on Michaelson Road in Barrow is on the market for £400,000.

A listing by Home Estate Agents said: "Previously a post office (amongst other commercial uses), this historic Grade II listed building in Barrow is prime for redevelopment to residential use.

Janet Morgan said: "As long as it’s not pulled down, any use is good, we’ve lost too many of our beautiful buildings. "This town has some impressive architecture.

"I imagine it with some gorgeous Christmas trees and old fashioned street lamps, strings of lights.

Janet Bury said: "Be great to see this building in use again and we definitely have a shortage of flats."

Colin Ohalloran said: "Good idea but where are they going to park it's bad enough for residents around this area already and the traffic wardens haven't got the time to patrol properly."

Stephen Dent said: "We have a lot of flats and houses and apartments in barrow but they are far to high for people to get the rent or deposit to get one make them cheaper so people and family can afford them."
