VRs
Does anyone else no feel sorry for the older ones in the office that their is no such thing is an oldmans walk these days and no sign of VRs,
would have maybe thought the union would have pushed for older man walks for guys over a certain age and or is VRs a thing of the past??

5 hrs + we do more than that now , but one of r/m top knobs best saying was , "there will be jobs for them that want to and can work for the company " , now to me that says it all about running people into the ground which they will do , give me a years wage and i would walk tomorrow

Re: VRs
Well these old guys are normally full timers earning more than the part timers and have easier walks at our place than the part timers! You could argue that they should have easier walks but it’s not fair seeing other people working on harder walks being paid less money, at the end of the day we are a business and need to act like one.

Re: VRs
The very fact there are easier & harder duties is ridiculous in the first place. They should all be made as equal as possible and then just down to personal preference.chickenwittle wrote: ↑07 May 2021, 20:02Been in the job 30 years , doesn’t mean I should have an easier duty than anyone else in my opinion.

But some are more equal than others
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: VRs
I mentioned having easier duties for the older staff to our union rep. Waste of time, he wasn't interested. The only thing you can do is put as much money away as possible, then leave when it suits you. The union wont support their older members, so don't waste your time and energy. Go when you are ready, forget the extra money you might have earned. You might be crippled by then. BTW, I've done more than 30 years in delivery, so I understand only too well, when it's your time to go, go.
