Videos : Robots in MC's!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Can't see the tug bots working locally, if anything I think they'd probably be a trip hazard. If it relies on each shift having the same floor plan, they're out of luck. You'd probably need a dozen of them at the absolute minimum.

Not sure about the purpose of the robot in the second vid. Can't think of anywhere where it would be of use

Past experience has shown that anything that requires a rechargeable battery will spend most of its life out of action ‘coz either it’s battery has failed, the charging unit has failed, or no-one’s bothered to plug it in.

I find it frustrating that Yorks without sleeves are routinely filled with small items which then cascade out the sides during their journey, maybe the York bot could have a sister unit that follows it and gathers any escapees ?!!

Good luck on the Bot surviving the rush to the door at the end of the shift when work still needs dispatching it will get trampled to pieces if it's in the way to the exit. As for the second bot it's too slow and will it be able to pick up all the letters and flats it tips onto the floor

The first bot will probably also get trampled to pieces during the night at the times when we get 2 or 3 arctic in at the same time. It'll also be generally way too slow

Every early and late shift at every MC is guilty of that, probably all the temp parcel hubs as well. Don't know if the RDCs condense any yorks and sleeves but if they do, it wouldn't surprise me if that were just as guilty as well

Auto tug - that about sums up Royal Mail.
There are a lot of auto tuggers in the business already.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It’s like watching tomorrow’s world back in the 80s.

“Royal Mail’s crap Executives need to be upgraded. They adversely affect long term profits, endanger the workforce, attempt to short term profiteer off a national tragedy and have seen the company fall below competitors in recent customer satisfaction surveys” says a mail centre curmudgeon in our latest RMTV video.
