5hr+delivery spans

5hrs were the norm.before this pandemic yesterday out for 6hrs 30. I'd like to say uts a 1 off but that'd be a lie and the union are useless. Managers say only thing you can leave are non tracked pkts.

Offices where the above is going on (I work in one) have been hung out to dry by the union. On one hand the union have blocked those working from home from doing any more than a 4 hour delivery on health and safety grounds), but they then turn a blind eye (despite being made fully aware) to management instructing staff to leave at 8:30am on a duty with 2-3 days worth of mail. "Just work to your time and take your breaks" - yeah, that still means people are out for 5.5 hours plus

5 Hour delivery spans the norm in rurals and have been for years but we have vans and not using trolleys. The round I’m covering is 6 hours currently due to Increased parcel volumes from first to last letter not including any breaks taken but it’s mostly driving.

These are rounds based on a 7:36 day which is impossible everyday of the week but Tuesday.

And what is the logic behind this? What's so extra dangerous about WFH? I presume you're talking about the same Districts that used to kick off when they were asked to stay out longer than 3 1/2 hours on Delivery?

Fair enough if you're on some short PT contract of 25 hrs, but what the hell were The FT people finding to do to keep them occupied when they were working from the DO?

Looks like RM are testing the water with different delivery solutions
It’s all about productivity ,control and efficiency.
Separating letters from parcels is their idea of achieving this.

Example
They are Geo-Routing the walks
Posties going out and delivering letters and only items that will fit through the letterbox.
This would mean a lot of walking to fill your hours, be prepared for 5 hrs+ solid !

Later starts for driving duties to take out the parcels and packets
Using the PDA to scan every parcel to optimise the delivery route.
In practice now but at a lesser level.

No ghosting or finishing early because you are clocking in / out.

Yes, Big Brother has finally arrived!

Oh and Sunday deliveries too.
And no Sick Pay for employees under 12 month service.
