Police pretending to be postal workers
"The ObserverPolice
Women’s anger at ‘abuse of power’ during Bristol police raids
Two protesters claimed they were subject to terrifying ordeals at the hands of male officers pretending to be postal workers"
What does anyone else think ? I'm not very happy that the police are impersonating us to harass protesters.

Re: Police pretending to be postal workers
Strange way that the police are constantly under fire, surely the question should be ' Why are people out protesting while we are still trying to get virus under control and everyone vaccinated ?'
Usual rent-a-mob in Bristol and other places deciding their views are more important and causing havoc.

The right to protest is fundamental to democracy, you only have to look around the world and through history to see that.' Why are people out protesting while we are still trying to get virus under control and everyone vaccinated ?'
You may not agree with what they are protesting about but you must defend their right to do so.

There is a time and place for protests and it isn’t now.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑04 Apr 2021, 11:45The right to protest is fundamental to democracy, you only have to look around the world and through history to see that.' Re: Police pretending to be postal workers
If this law comes in there will not be " a time and a place for protests" as most will be illegal .

They "claimed" it and it's in the Guardian, therefore it must be true.
What possible advantage would the police get in posing as posties?

It's not uncommon for the police to use this technique to open a door.
A drug dealer in a flat knows there's only one way in, you should see some of the reinforced doors I've come across, bolts, steel bars the works . If you can get someone to willingly open their front door it saves a lot of effort, damage and most importantly lessens the chances of escape or destruction of evidence.

You might be right but that's always subjective.scoobydo79 wrote: ↑04 Apr 2021, 12:11There is a time and place for protests and it isn’t now.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑04 Apr 2021, 11:45The right to protest is fundamental to democracy, you only have to look around the world and through history to see that.' The law isn't subjective it's absolute.

Yeah, I'm sure they needed those qualities when hoping to catch a 21 year old woman in a student flat.

It's been done before, they have even used real posties in some cases.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
