ROYAL MAIL TRADING UPDATE AND REVISED FULL YEAR EXPECTATIONS

Post by POSTMAN »

https://www.royalmailgroup.com/en/press ... ectations/

Following the third quarter trading update published on 11 February 2021, recent letter volume and revenue trends in Royal Mail have been more robust than anticipated, with Advertising, Business and Stamped Mail all performing above our previous expectations. Growth in parcels in the UK has remained strong but broadly in line with expectations.

As we near the completion of the Royal Mail management restructuring programme announced in June 2020, the charge associated with this is now anticipated to be c. £90 million compared to the original estimate of £140 million. We will deliver the targeted savings of £130 million annually, with around £15 million realised in the current financial year FY2020-21.

GLS performance remains in line with prior expectations.

As a result, if the current trading performance in Royal Mail continues for the remainder of March, we would expect Royal Mail revenue for FY2020-21 to be more than £900 million higher year on year.

For the Group, adjusted operating profit for FY2020-21 is now expected to be around £700 million. Royal Mail plc will issue a pre-close announcement on 30 March and a business update on GLS will also be provided at that time, followed by an update on Royal Mail in the UK alongside FY2020-21 results on 20 May.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

£700 million ??!!
We settled for 2.7 and 1 % ???
Think the word I looking for is PEANUTS !!
The savings figures dont add up !!??
Company set aside in early 2020 figures £147 million for the 2,000 job losses-management !!!
Any senior personnel want to tell us how many have left ??
Said it before on here -IS IT 0 nil zero ?
I trust Messrs Thompson Williams will be advising of a bonus for the employees re effort during Covid, in light of above figures
Or will it just be a Well Done !! speech
Stamps re Christmas Cards was well documented best for over 20 years
Mail Down ?? strange this re we paying out o/t like confetti and not re lack of staff re covid !!!??
Union Quiet of late cannot think why ??
From outset in March of last year-it was very apparent the volumes would we incur

They're making money now, wait till the regulator starts giving us big fines for lack of , or non existent quality. How long can we get away with leaving walks in and bringing stuff back? Was a time when one letter brought back by accident would have been conducted.

Yet we have a manager who questions what time you finish and doesn’t pay you the correct overtime, and is currently trying to put more lapsing on people’s walks!

Nice replies gentleman re Management leaving but 2,000 ??
At least i know some leaving-lets face it £73,500 not a bad some, even if in tough times
Changing tact for a minute 10,000 kept on ??
We a depot of over a 100 personnel we kept on 1 !!! 2 also were with us,but moved to other depots hence total of 3 !!¬
How many of you got some of these 10,000 and if you have - how many ??
Just pointing out from a purely mathematical point !
If a depot of over 100 has only kept one on ???
Not sure how many depots in the UK but 10,000 spead around on basis off my depot 100-hence quite large and only 1 kept on ??????
I know we working at the end of the day
But to use a saying business is business, and we are going to do well for some length of time now change in retail sales of general public
We have been struggling here not re Covid hardly touched us-simply lack of full time personnel re IPS
We dont have the experienced sorters as we age/retire/illness etc
Aware Mail volume going to be high in March/April re census/vaccine letter/council tax end of year/tax codes etc
But plain fact is -other mail volume is immense right now
We are worth more The physical and mental demands of last year and certainly next 6 to 8 months warrants a thankyou in finance form.
It will be there for Management, and whilst having started my working life in the City of London, I fully accept, you have to have a CEO,Senior Management
But ?? They are only as good as their workforce-And if I was Messrs Thompsons/Williams shoes right now-i would ensure they looked after-to continue what has a been the toughest year in our working lives here
