I don't work for Royal Mail.... but....I've always liked posties! :wave 'Ello lads and lasses.

My reason for registering here is actually a very simple one - I want to get hold of one of the lovely old blue Royal Mail shoulderbags to keep my (heavy) books in. My bags keep breaking so I got to thinking what would hold 'em - then it came to me! A lovely old blue RM bag!

I've scoured the internet without joy, so I thought I'd come to the horse's mouth and ask here!

I hope this request doesnt get the mods hopping mad! This is a genuine enquiry, honest guv.

If anyone can help please do get in touch.

Welcome to RMC baglover :wave If you mean the bags that we use now(red ones)but in blue i dont think you will get one :sad: they were phased out a few years ago and i cant remember the last time i see one.Have you tried E-Bay?

Oh yes, I know they were phased out a while ago. I was in New York this summer on hols and I saw a lady carrying one around "Royal Mail!" I shouted at her. She was friendly enough - she told me she had got it from an Army Surplus place.

I called my local sorting office earlier today and they said the bags had been phased out and now the red ones (not waterproof) were in use.

Either would do I suppose.
