Still no supplement!
Finally left RM at the end of November and was due my full Section C supplement to be paid at the end of December. Since I reached my NRA60 in January 2018 I have received just over 2 years worth of supplement based on a pension I had transferred across from an earlier job. This is paid despite at that stage still working for RM.
I did e-mail & phone RMSPS to confirm my leaving date. But nothing was added to my December pension. Phoned again in early January and they said they were inundated with work but assured me the supplement and arrears would be paid at the end of January. On checking today on the RMSPS web site where you can view the current & past pension wage slips can see again its not been added. Phoned up and told yes it was being processed and it "might" be added in February but they couldn't guarantee that it would! Of course its because they inundated with work and Covid!
So have sent an email to the CEO of Capita using the address from this board. Reply within 30 minutes saying it was unacceptable and was passing it onto the MD of our Pensions Administration business to discuss and resolve. Lets hope so! See how long this saga continues...
On the other hand HMRC have been very swift and efficient with removing tax from my final salary pension and so far two tax rebates as well.

Re: Still no supplement!
Well the email to the CEO of Capita worked! Got my full pension supplement and arrears back dated to end of November. Interesting to see that all the supplement is applied to the RMSPS final salary pension including the 2 years worth of the CARE pension. Wonder if the NRA65 supplement will also be added to that pension as well.
I advise everyone getting their Section C pension to keep hold of their pension revision letter you get after the first 12 weeks of getting your pension. As that is the only time they list the supplement separately from the rest of your pension. After that it is only shown as the complete pension. So at least when they remove the supplement when you get to State pension age you can make sure they have removed the correct amount!

Re: Still no supplement!
I have contacted RMSPS as I am still not getting supplement part of pension. I left royal mail early December, have phoned sent emails and spoke to them several times. They told me still processing it should get it next month in February. I am already receiving RMPP supplement didn't have to contact them about it.

Re: Still no supplement!
I would suggest you contact the CEO at Capita as they originally told me I would get my RMSPS supplement at the end of January like you. But when that was not going to happen told me it should be paid at the end of February but couldn't guarantee it! So could see the same issue happening in February as well! Once I contacted the CEO it was resolved in two days and the supplement and arrears was paid on the 29th Jan. I assume you have taken the NRA65 pension as well? I am only taking the NRA60 at the moment.hatter68 wrote: ↑01 Feb 2021, 21:02I have contacted RMSPS as I am still not getting supplement part of pension. Re: Still no supplement!
If you're in section C, you should get a pension supplement from leaving the business and until state pension age. This thread suggests you may have to chase it up!
Members of sections A & B don't get a supplement.
If memory serves me correctly, you've been paying into the RMDCP for a while? If so, you can also access that money.

Re: Still no supplement!
To be in section C you'll have joined RM or the pension scheme, sometime between 1st April 1987 and 31st March 2008.
If you have any of your old annual statements, they should tell you which section you were in.

Re: Still no supplement!
When i left in december i was contacted by RMPP by letter regarding my supplement which was paid same month. I was told I would have to contact capita about RMSPS supplement. I sent email and letter and phoned and started to receive this payment in febuary. I was in section c. I contacted tax office as well to change codes as my only income now is my NRA 60 pension.

Re: Still no supplement!
Thanks for help not in section C, so that's the end of that, just another quick question, a friend at work plays the stock market and was wondering if he could transfer his royal mail pension into a SIPP, sounds rather chancery to me, any help appreciated thanks.

Re: Still no supplement!
It depends which RM pension he's talking about?
The RMSPS(pre 2012) can only be transferred into another DB scheme(a SIPP is DC).
But it is possible to get a Cash Equivalent Transfer Value(CETV) for RMPP benefits(post 2012) and transfer into a SIPP. See the RMPP website for details.
Whether giving up a guaranteed index linked income for life and spouses benefits, is a good idea is another thing entirely.
In general I personally don't think it is, but there may be individual circumstances which might make it a better choice.
The RMDCP can also be transferred into a SIPP, as can AVC's via Bonusplan and Flexiplan.
