These change but my top 5 in no order:

*With most of the public staying home and having plenty free time now is a great opportunity to check your bell, put up the house name/number that fell down a few years ago, make sure your boohoo account has your full address. Yes it’s great that your normal postman knows your house name but with so many isolating or being moved rounds it’s not easy covering a rural round wondering what half the houses are called.

*If you get a metal box get one that opens at the top. Unless you want to have to go collect your radio times from the DO (or have to wait in all day for it to be redelivered).

*Serial parcel buyers....please fill out a safe place. And a proper one at that, not ‘in bin’ or ‘please open the parcel and post the items through’ (i once had that one!).

*Talk to us. If you don’t like us doing something just tell us nicely. Putting in an official complaint just creates resentment. On a similar note a thank you goes a long way. I don’t know what the hells going on with people but I’m finding more and more just look at you and pick up their parcel from the doorstep without even a thank you. Goes back to resentment - if you can’t even be arsed to mumble a thank you, don’t be surprised if your essential Zara parcel missing your house number goes straight back to sender.

*This one is for businesses - help us out a bit. More and more are locking their receptions then putting a note in the door telling us to ring this number. We struggled to complete our round before all this started when we could simply put your Mail on your reception desk. We definitely don’t have time to wait 5 minutes while you send Jamie from accounts to unlock the door (plus quite rightly a lot of us refuse to use our personal mobile phones for work).

Due to the on-line parcels going berserk .... PLEASE CHECK THE DELIVERY ADDRESS

We get a lot of Abbreviated Addresses which I are believe are caused mainly by the drop down menus on some sites. We'll often just get the house number and a postcode! Agreed that is the Minimum required to find your house, but a lot of smaller parcels are sorted by Humans (not machines) and they end up on the wrong walks, causing us lots of wasted time walking around trying to discover where they should be.

We'll also often turn up at an address with a parcel someone's ordered for someone else .... and they've got the "Delivered To" and the "Invoice To" addresses mixed up.

Also please try and use a "Sensible" Safeplace. Expecting your Postie to walk down two roads to get into your back garden is not on! AND ask your neighbour if they mind taking your parcels before asking us to leave them there. It's just Good Manners.

When sending post, always put a surname. They may have moved house and paid for a redirection - the redirection is for surnames only, so putting just first names means the postie will have to deliver it to the address you have put and it could end up being binned.

If you are having any form of building work, make sure the postie can still get to the delivery point. Having the driveway or path dug up or the area turned into a building site may mean the postie is unable to deliver the post (including parcels etc).

Do these people think postal workers are immune to catching covid, do they think its ok to break social distancing rules when it comes to getting their post from their postal worker?

people who think they can question their postal worker about a missing parcel and then expect them to find a solution

people who put covid tests in non priority boxes, are these people thick?

Stop having front doors fitted with the letter box at ground level just because it looks cool!! It's not!! And stop coming to the door to collect your mail off me......I might be breathing covid all over you or you me!

I seems strange to me how many parcels are being ordered by people who are unemployed, but not just that, why they are not in to receive them during lockdown ?. But what really gets my back up is when they arrange a redelivery and are not in again!!!!

Contributions based JSA/ESA isn't very generous at all for someone who finds themselves unemployed especially if they don't have kids... but a ''single mummy'' who knows how to fully exploit the benefits system will easily be in receipt of at least the equivalent of the take home pay for a full time postie, if not actually considerably more.

Please put your FULL return address on anything you send in case something goes wrong and it needs to be returned. Complaints would be reduced if people just took ten seconds to do this this?

Nothing worse than lugging a huge boots box full of toiletries up stairs just to be snarled at because I’ve had the audacity to knock your door with a parcel YOU ordered!

Letterboxes that are at the bottom of the door = back problems

Letterboxes that have a stupid security flap on the back, meaning it's difficult to push anything through, even a C.D. sized box

Unnecessarily rigid/rock hard letterboxes meaning your post crumples too easily

Homeowners who barricade themselves in. It's not easy to get to your letterbox with cars, recycling boxes and wheelie bins just an inch from your front door!I

DO NOT BUY A DOOR WITH A LOW LETTERBOX!!!

More and more new doors have got them right at the bottom and it beggars belief really- is no thought given to what the letterbox will be used for? Surely even an idiot can see that having to bend that low is a killer on the back?

If every house had low letterboxes we couldnt do our job, pure and simple.

So yeah, low letterboxes = very very bad.
