Woody with the safeguards secured it is nothing more than the most expensive clocking in system in history.
They can’t use it for resourcing , they can’t use it for conduct and they can’t use it for pay / overtime purposes.
The advantage for them in this that it removes all paper work and is linked to all their IT systems.

Nowhere in the agreement does it say they can't use it for resourcing in fact it specifically says the opposite... twice.
Technology will be used to complement, inform and enhance along with all other factors, the existing resourcing processes, including manager, CWU rep and employee
conversations.
• Technology will replace outdated and inconsistent manual methods of information gathering and provide the underlying insight to improve our current processes including resourcing.

This is from the agreement and Royal Mail originally wanted to resource solely by the use of Digital technology and clearly this is not the case.
RMG also confirm that technology will not replace the need for consultation and negotiation as outlined in the Industrial Relations Framework. Therefore, the use of technology is designed to support more informed discussions between RMG and CWU and not replace them in any shape or form.
As such, both parties reaffirm that the key relationship in all operational decision making on a daily, weekly or longer term basis will remain that between the Local Manager and Local Rep.

Do we know what form the clocking in and out will take. Will we need to swipe our I'd in a machine or is it your pda entering and leaving the building.if managers have all gone home before finish time - as happens in many offices, what's to stop one of you in a shared van going home early and his partner returning on time with both pda or I'd cards. They take it in turns through the week to bunk off early. This already happens in many offices too.

So basically the 'Local Manager' can use the information for decision making and will bring the information to the 'Local Rep' to argue why such and such needs to happen.Martin Walsh wrote: ↑23 Dec 2020, 14:33Woody

How gullible do you think we all are Martin??
1. Can't use it for resourcing? Is this the same video that tells us about REVISIONS?
2. Can't use it for conduct? We heard that said about the PDAs. However, little fact finding sessions crept in when posties failed to scan a Tracked item. What would happen if a postie happened to clock in late a couple of times? Late attendance is in the conduct code.
3. Can't use it for pay/overtime purposes? Why won't they do this when other companies do? Surely its there to benefit Royal Mail's to pay its staff exactly what it is that they have worked, and what business should operate otherwise? They will expect their managers to ensure that staff are working all their hours and to try and cut back on too much ghost overtime.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
