Angard Payroll Arrangements Christmas/New Year
Has anyone heard anything about how payroll will be run over the holidays? Normally the cut off day is earlier and you only get paid for part of the Christmas week on the Friday after Christmas - it all depends on what day of the week Christmas Day and New Years Day fall.
I imagine the pay we would normally get on a Friday we will get a day earlier (ie on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve) - but how they divide the pay periods up over the holidays is still a mystery.

Angard should have told us by now, but I have not heard a thing.

Re: Angard Payroll Arrangements Christmas/New Year
We get paid as normal when the bank holiday is on a Monday the rest of the year so they just have to bring forward payment to the Thursday due to the Friday holidays, so there probably isn't a need for a cut off date this year. Most years there are two consecutive bank holidays at Christmas so you get the cut off. I may be wrong.

Re: Angard Payroll Arrangements Christmas/New Year
A related question: does anyone know the rates of pay for Boxing Day (26th)? I know Monday 28th and Friday 1st January attract Bank Holiday rates, but is Saturday 26th normal weekday rates?

Looks like normal rates plus a lump sum if you go over 4 hours.Lockardian wrote: ↑23 Dec 2020, 02:11A related question: does anyone know the rates of pay for Boxing Day (26th)? I know Monday 28th and Friday 1st January attract Bank Holiday rates, but is Saturday 26th normal weekday rates?
From an email they've sent out.
Attendances that are for 4 hours and up to and including 8 hours will receive an additional lump sum payment of £38.00
Attendances that are in excess of 8 hours or more will receive an additional lump sum payment of £60.00

Still the usual disgrace I see.
I emailed them and, yesterday, they replied ‘We do not understand your question’.
The usual awful service continues.

Re: Angard Payroll Arrangements Christmas/New Year
I saw a briefing to that effect but that implied it was Royal Mail staff only? Do Angard definitely get the additional lump sum?tabact wrote: ↑23 Dec 2020, 11:11Looks like normal rates plus a lump sum if you go over 4 hours.Lockardian wrote: ↑23 Dec 2020, 02:11A related question: does anyone know the rates of pay for Boxing Day (26th)? Re: Angard Payroll Arrangements Christmas/New Year
Received an email yesterday about the extra payment from Angard. Though I'm guessing it won't be paid for a night shift starting at 22.00 on Saturday as there would only be two hours of the shift worked on the Saturday. They are running a night shift at my MC.

Re: Angard Payroll Arrangements Christmas/New Year
Same here, I start at 10pm. Though Angard’s normal “day” runs from 2.01am to 2am (Bank Holiday/Sunday rates apply if you start before 2.01am Monday) - so we may be in luck. Even better we may have to work 8hrs and 5mins... yeah right!

Hi Ho! Hi Ho!
It’s off to the Employment Tribunal you can go!
I’m advised by a ‘No win; no fee’ firm of solicitors that Leeds Emplyment Tribunal are so fed up with all the cases against Angard/RM that the companies will, Invariably, settle out-of-court at the last moment rather than face a judge.
(Subject to restrictive and punitive Non-Disclosure Agreement!)

Re: Angard Payroll Arrangements Christmas/New Year
I'm guessing if RM really don't want to pay it they could send staff home before 4 hours are up
As far as I know, there are no Angard attending my office on Sat.
No Christmas casuals are attending that is for sure but that is only the official line :)
Managers are a law onto themselves with stuff like this.
RM is facing tribunals from all directions - last I heard the tribunal service was trying to select certain cases to bring forward and pausing the rest but those selected cases were intended for summer 2020 :(

Re: Angard Payroll Arrangements Christmas/New Year
I have received an email from Angard/JoinedUp stating that Boxing Day “lump sum” payments will be paid next Friday - I assume this is the £36/£60 referred to above. I haven’t been paid for my eight-hour shift yet so still have no idea what the actual hourly rate is. Anyone know? Standard Saturday rate, or Bank Holiday rate? I’ve even heard a rumour it may be Sunday rate!

Re: Angard Payroll Arrangements Christmas/New Year
Bank holiday rate probably doesn't apply as the actual bank holiday was on the Monday so I'd guess normal rate plus extra payment. Bank holiday rate is £16.74 an hour at our MC, possibly varies across the country. Odd that there is a delay for the Boxing Day pay when everything else was paid.

Re: Angard Payroll Arrangements Christmas/New Year
Yes is odd and is the same for RM staff as well as agency - we've not been paid the hours or the bonus.
Got it badly wrong staffing wise at my office with way too many staff in
