Re: release rm proposal
Terry can’t be arsed to give us an update. Happy to collect his £100k/year salary funded by us though. I’m cancelling my subs, I might join again when we have a leader more in touch with the members

Re: release rm proposal
I don't think I can recall a standalone pay deal in our recent history. But it is also evident the pay deal is not a “standalone” issue now (or was never intended to be !)
Both the union and the business recognise that major change just won't be accepted without a financial incentive so no it was never intended by either party to be a standalone pay deal.
It was just a slightly dishonest opening bargaining position.

I don't intend to work for this s**t company for much longer anyway and I am willing to take a significant pay cut to find employment elsewhere. I dread going into work these days. It's no way to live. 13 years iv been with RM. May as well be one day with the level of respect and loyalty they show staff. They say a companies best asset is its staff and no truer is that the case than with RM. Someone should tell management. They clearly never got the memo.

Re: release rm proposal
So we go from last week you saying " it's just a matter of getting the wording right" to this.
Two things could be happening here.
Either things have taken a turn for the worse in negotiations or this is just another delaying tactic from both sides to get Christmas pressure out of the way before details are released of the deal.
My money is on the latter

Re: release rm proposal
To be fair to the Union they must know that whatever happens when the "talks" conclude the overwhelming reaction from the members is going to be negative. Unless they can swing a 10% pay rise and a 35 hour week no strings attached there is going to be a backlash. The workload has been such since the beginning of the pandemic that all frontline workers feel overworked and undervalued by the company. My thoughts on what the Union should be concentrating on in the current talks is simply what is happening now on the frontline. A one off pay rise which reflects the volume of work that we have done throughout the pandemic and continue to do as Xmas approaches. A joint commitment to do whatever is required to enable us to be the biggest player in the Parcels market which will secure a prosperous future for RM and jobs for people in the future. A joint commitment to use technology as a means to working together to build a future and not as a tool to threaten people with. We don't know what the future will be like post Covid so is there any real point in wasting time and energy making plans for what we believe might happen? Deal with the present situation and make a commitment to continue to monitor the future going forward together.

Well said.
This is not hard, just common sense and pragmatic.
An approach all concerned would do well to take on board.

Re: release rm proposal
They are incapable of it .This time last year RM could have resolved this. What did they do? Effectively took us all to court to have a strike prevented. We then get Rico booted out .Plenty of back slapping and congratulations on our job well done just to find nothing has changed for either of us for the better.Pathetic displays.

Re: release rm proposal
We're all pissed off Terry shouldn't have said nothing like he did over the last 2 weeks.
But it's done and dusted now let's move on,
Some times it looks like the CEO are saying stuff to the cwu and they must be promising them stuff
Especially for the cwu to come back to the members saying stuff like Terry did over the last 2 weeks.
Then they must meet up and the CEO change there mind and try to make Terry look a tit and all the members.
An attack on one of our members Terry is a attack on all of our members aka US
Don't blame Terry be he must be like that's good the CEO are working me to get a deal then they change there proposals at the next meeting.
Shocking and disgusting
f**k them
CWU tell them to get to f**k at the next meeting and ballot in the next few months when things are looking up at the tail end of the Pandemic.
CEO hold your head in Shame your not trying to work with the cwu your trying to destroy it

Re: release rm proposal
Terry is collecting 100k+ a year. Don’t kid yourself that he’s battling bravely for us members. He wants a face saving deal so he can enjoy his cushy job. I’d bet my mortgage he doesn’t work weekends and finishes at around 12 on Fridays. In this situation he should be working 7 days a week to sort it all out, his wage is enough compensation. He’s as much a part of the problem as Royal Mail management is.Yamr1 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2020, 18:32We're all pissed off Terry shouldn't have said nothing like he did over the last 2 weeks.

Re: release rm proposal
AFAIK - Terry said last week that the proposals were being given to 'The Postal Executive' ( whoever the fck they are ! ). You'd think he would have the common decency to update us on what's been going on since then.
After 2 positive strike ballots, one screwed up and the other negated due to lack of b*llocks.... - does he seriously think he has the membership behind him? Delusional !
