Any part timer who has worked full time will have received the standard hourly pay plus an increase in the delivery supplement for every hour worked up to 38.
I was made up to full time for Christmas a couple of years ago.
Full time is now 35 hours, so each day I had to claim an extra 36 minutes to make the total hours to 38 in a week. Obviously that meant I only got 35 hours pay each week, and the extra 3 hours SSPR the following week.
That meant that I only got 35/38ths of the bonus at the correct time. Its only a few quid difference so not worth worrying about, but being made up to full time DID NOT give me the correct amount of the bonus. I got a random extra amount in January and I know that it did not add up to £200 in total so I did miss out.
I refused being made up last year because I felt I did miss some pay, from what others said exactly the same thing happened. So this year again I am staying on my contracted hours and will have done just a few hours overtime over the period.
Having some full timers on 38 hours and some on 35 hours just creates problems like this.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.
But a full time contract has been 35 hours ever since the SWW started and full time became 38 hours. RM stated at the time that all new ft contracts would be 35 hours, and that is what they have given. That is why pt made up to ft for Christmas get 35 hours and then claim 3 hours ot.

Incorrect- I am 30 hours, been made up to 38 since 23rd Nov so trusting I will get the full bonus.
Concur with what has been said above- the extra payment in January for part timers does not in my experience make you up to the full £200.
I know this because last year I was doing 70 hours for whole of December and in January I received an extra payment which put my total up to something like 175.
Full time fecking off home at 2 o clock or less every day the full 200.'
I argued the toss with my manager in this regard and told him if my hours weren't 38 this year I wouldn't be doing any o/t on principle.
Yet another part time con.

That's because the extra payment in January is a top up but is NOT based on your contracted hours in December (no disrespect
to Martin but I found his explanation of the bonus earlier in this thread a little confusing).
It is based on your average OT throughout the year - so if all your OT added up through the year/52 gets you up to 38hrs or more
then you'll get the full £100 (pre-tax etc.)
The other bonus IS based on your contracted hours in December - so full time or made up to full time for at least two
weeks in Xmas pressure - then you'll get £100 under that qualification too.
There are documents in various old threads on different boards about this going back a few years - it's a matter of
going back to the original document which explains the qualification criteria.

Well not a week goes by throughout the year I don't do less than 38 hours.
And I still didnt get the equivalent total bonus of 200 by January.
Nor the 3 previous years before that.
So something doesn't add up.
Am pleased you've got it, I've spoken to half a dozen pt in our office and they are all getting 35.
Tbh I was a little surprised as the whole of the week I was booking overtime on a morning still.
Manager said he would sort it but never confirmed it.
So the hours were adjusted back down the week after to negate the overtime already booked.

Yes but you can't earn OT on Public Holidays and normal leave though........

Just work your hours!
It suits me to work overtime and I don't mind doing it.
What I do mind is working more hours than a full timer and getting less bonus.
