Posties have been unsure what to think after spotting new designer jackets made out of plastic Royal Mail sacks.
The unusual garments are part of Selfridges' 'The Power of the Post' collaboration with Royal Mail, and the jackets are priced at a whopping £445 ($590).
There's also a gilet made out of one of the sacks on offer for £400 ($530) and a mail sack tote bag priced at £80 ($106).
Unsurprisingly, the posties who use these sacks on a daily basis are baffled by the range.
Snaps of the curious clothing were posted in a postal workers' Facebook group and a pile-on soon ensued.
Commenting on the photos, one person said: "Seriously? Who would wear this."
Another added: "Ffs I've seen it all now."
A third added: "Only a fool with too much money would buy this overpriced unattractive crap."
And another postie said: "What brain fart came up with that and what absolute idiot followed through with it."
Others concluded that the appropriation of the sacks by the world of high-end fashion might explain shortages in the mail room.
One postie said: "That's where all the bloody sacks have disappeared to."
Another added: "There's going to be a bag famine."
While a third joked: "Need to take a few bags home and get a sewing machine."
If at this point you're still genuinely baffled that this clobber exists, perhaps Selfridges' explanation will provide a little clarity.
Its website reads: "While we continue to stay connected to those we can't visit in person, we're celebrating the power of the post, and the sense of closeness and community it brings, with Royal Mail.
"To pay a worthy tribute to the British icon - delivering through rain and shine for over 500 years - we've delivered an exclusive collection of post-inspired fashion, homeware and accessories, and set up our very own Royal Mail pop-up at Selfridges London (where you can create video message QR code stamps, write letters to Santa and wrap and send off your gifts), just in time for ticking off your Christmas list."
It continues: "We've teamed up with Royal Mail (and borrowed a few of their copy lines, too) to deliver a collection of exclusive merchandise, featuring hoodies, tees, accessories and homeware, available in store at Selfridges London and online from 3 December.
"'Do not bend', 'Fragile' and 'First Class' are all words synonymous with the post office, reminding us of the most important letters and grin-inducing parcels we've received in the past.
"Plus, our friends at Studio ALCH, Labrum London and Biscuiteers have used the post as a creative jumping-off point for a line-up of exclusive (and, in Biscuiteers case, rather tasty) pieces."
