Actually laughed when I walked into our office this morning.

You can hardly move in there, literally.

The frames are too close together, the aisles too narrow. It’s a struggle to push a york down an aisle. The ramp into the car park is only wide enough for 1 york so once you even get to loading stage you’re waiting. Yet still idiots dumping trays, yorks in walkways and the car park.

People sent out early to do packets finding themselves having to move 8 or 9 vans. 7.5 tonne trucks parked all over. And then if you eventually do get to the exit gate, there’s 7.5 trucks queued up waiting to unload interspersed with customers collecting parcels mixed in with daily traffic. Very congested.

Doing the actual delivery seems the easy part now!

About 90% of the packets and 80% of the mail I reckon.

Many duties now need bigger RM2000 frames to safely organise the parcels that are actually going out for delivery that day, as opposed to the others being left in sacks, so many letters are sitting in the frame for days and the Xmas card chaos is yet to begin... Fun times! :nervous

......and they reckon mail is down? Where? Where is it down coz we had shed loads today and not many cards either...yet.... although if today's collection boxes are anything to go by it's coming. Got tracked pkts done and 80% of letters almost 2 hrs overtime. It's ridiculous.

There's s**tloads of stuff caught up in the pipeline so for DOs and night shifts in MCs (normally just night shifts that process inward mail) it's the calm before the storm

If this is calm I don't wanna be around when the storm hits. Knowing royal mail it'll be a Titanic scenario with the lifeboats.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have a night during xmas pressure when we hit 100k of Tracked and we're one of the smaller MCs

Terrible day. Most small packets left unsorted and are being done this afternoon on OT.
About half the letters sorted. We had 2600 tracked items in an office that was averaging around 1000-1200 last Xmas peak.
Slider tool. Lol.

That was the worst day I have ever seen at RM. About half the walks didn’t go out as there was that many tracked parcels they failed the walks just to get them clear, any none tracked parcels just left behind as well. Of the walks that went half of those came back with half that they went out with.

Amazingly it seems to be getting even heavier for packets. It really is quite something atm.
