RMSPS delays?

I have found RMSPS (so far, as far as my lump sum is concerned to be spot on time) I am due my monthly pension later on this month.
However I am hearing that some people have been delayed some of their lump sum payments. Some just a few days, some over a couple of weeks.
My advice is to check all the stages and complete them on time.
Use the right envelopes for the right pensions.
I had a colleague post his RMSPS pension request in the RMPP envelope rather than the RMPP one supplied.
Have you returned your life time allowance form? All things like that.
Don't wait to be contacted for your pension.
Perhaps consider starting the process by yourself.
I applied at least 5 months in advance.
Even if you want it at your NRA, perhaps tell them, you want to start the ball rolling for your payment date.
The good news is, I have never known any one not paid!
But don't just sit there and wait. Be a little pushy and follow up the process.
Oh and I used recorded and Special delivery, it's a good use of thos Christmas stamps you just got.
I actually told RMSPS I was very happy with the service they gave me and if I get my monthly payment at the end of the month, I shall be very happy.
Just the Cash balance to come in the next few months.

I’ve returned all my forms by early September ,then nothing, No pension confirmation ,no LTA certificate, I’ve retired last week and am now chasing my lumpsum and pension from rmpp and capita and then I get told on the phone I shouldn’t leave the job untill my pension has been confirmed. Ha Ha.

I have been told on phone that to get the allowance paid until I hit Govt pension age I have to leave the job before I apply for Royal Mail Pension is this correct and does that mean when I leave I will be waiting months until I get my pension.......all a bit concerning in fairness.

I actually found RMPP quite abrupt when I decided after weeks of delays to phone them for the umpteenth time to ask what was the delay. They finally admitted after trying to palm me off that the delay was with RMSPS but when I informed RMPP that I was going to ring RMSPS I was told “ I have no right to phone them and it could delay things further”. Thanks to the good people on this forum I was given the CEO email address at RMSPS and things progressed quickly after that. Yes don’t wait till pension is paid, do chase it up but don’t expect helpful and obliging staff at the end of the phone

You will get the pension regardless of whether you have left RM or not at the NRA or earlier if you request it. Only the supplement will not be paid if you still working for RM or The Post Office. This gets paid after you actually leave and until your State Pension age. Of course given Capita there is always a worry they will cock it up!

I have had my NRA60 since I turned 60 in January 2018. Part of my supplement has been paid despite still working at RM. This is based on a pension I transferred to RM from a previous employer many years ago. I finally leave RM at the end of next week so will be interested to see how quickly and correctly the remaining and bulk of my supplement is paid! Watch this space!

Because you have left RM before getting your pension , you will find, sadly, that you will have to go through the whole process again. This time dealing with RMSPS and RMPP separately. I was told by letter not to resign before I had my confirmed payment date.

The point I was making was if you start the process for your pension and then leave before the process is complete and classed as "in payment", you would have to start the paperwork all over again and this time, would need to deal seperatly with RMSPS and RMPP.

1) I applied on the 1st June 2020
2) RMSPS (capita) replied on the 10th June and RMPP on the 15th

I'm 55 on Feb 16th and left there a long time ago. I rang them on November 1st and they said they would sent out the paperwork. It's now Dec 1st...and nothing...should I be worrying yet?

14 people in the office have taken their NRA60 in last 9 months, 4 who were turning 60 received their Pension and Lump Sums no more than 4 weeks after their 60th birthday.
The remaining 10 staff who were aged 55 to 58 received their monies late or very late, up to 3 months late. Covid-19 and delays with RMSPS reasons given.
