Intl. Signed and Tracked in London AMU since oct 30

Hello,

I have an international package being sent to me in Saudi Arabia. It was shipped only a day or two before the announcement of the lockdown and it has been in London AMU with “leaving the UK” status since Oct 30. I’ve contacted RM help on Twitter but with no definite answer on where it is exactly now. It contains some children outfits so nothing prohibited from entering Saudi. Saudi post didn’t receive anything and has no more info about it than what’s on Royal Mail website.

I was wondering how long does it take nowadays considering the lockdown for a parcel to leave the UK? When is the current lockdown expected to end?

The lockdown itself does not directly affect the postal system. Royal Mail are still at work, post boxes still get collections, homes get deliveries etc.

There is disruption to the system due to sick absence & staff self-isolating, and international mail can be affected by the reduced numbers of flights out of the country.

When you say it is still at London AMU, what *exactly* does the last tracking point say?

Thank for the reply. The exact message says “your item is now leaving the UK” ..

At first it was the same message showing the location as Langley then at London AMU.

I’ve double checked with Saudi post and they said nothing was received yet. Royal Mail couldn’t confirm whether the parcel has actually been on a plane or not yet. They’ve only advised to wait until 3/12 before reporting as missing

The exact message says “your item is now leaving the UK”.

It went on the plane then. The delay must be at Saudi customs. There is no problem with sending clothes to Saudi, so it must be a different problem with the parcel (e.g. no customs form attached) or general problem with customs there.

That’s strange really since it’s not our first time. But I’m hoping I’d receive something soon.

It is still on leaving the UK! There was never any issues with any clothes delivered from abroad via Saudi post or other companies when it comes to customs. I really wonder what happened as there seems to be a lot of people in other countries facing the same issue and having the same message from RM. London AMU .. leaving the UK

Three months later, it has arrived. It departed London in January 16.
