If that's the case, fair enough.silver_fox wrote:Wearing a mask causes me distress so I am exempt.
But why post videos to say they don't do any good? Why would that make any difference to your situation?

Distress isn't exactly a medical condition is it?silver_fox wrote:Wearing a mask causes me distress so I am exempt.
I was told by a union rep yesterday that RM are now considering making them compulsory so your excuse won't really cut it. I wear one at work because I want to minimise the risk of me passing it on to collegues, it's a shame that some people think their supposed discomfort is more important than the greater good of the country.

OK thanks, will decline then as they make me uncomfortable for any long periods of time.aiden01 wrote:No they are not mandatory.. but strongly recommened they are worn so you decide wether to wear one or not.19times wrote:Office informed today as of tomorrow it is Royal Mail policy to wear masks, do you have to then or not?

They make everyone uncomfortable when worn for long periods of time. Discomfort isn't an excuse not to wear one in order to protect the health of your colleagues and their families. Man up FFS!19times wrote:OK thanks, will decline then as they make me uncomfortable for any long periods of time.aiden01 wrote:No they are not mandatory.. but strongly recommened they are worn so you decide wether to wear one or not.19times wrote:Office informed today as of tomorrow it is Royal Mail policy to wear masks, do you have to then or not?

I was happy to social distance but I’ve said all along masks is a step too far and the evidence is weak that they actually make any difference. I see them every day discarded in the car park, on grass verges, and it makes me sick. I will not be wearing one.

What you think of the effectiveness of masks and how you feel about them being discarded matters not a jot. If they become mandatory in RM, without a medical reason, you will need to wear one. I'm sorry, but there's no other way to dress it up.silver_fox wrote:I was happy to social distance but I’ve said all along masks is a step too far and the evidence is weak that they actually make any difference. I think they'll become mandatory in MCs at final dispatch times. In DOs perhaps times like when everyone piles around to the IPS to collect the mail for their walkCucumber wrote:What you think of the effectiveness of masks and how you feel about them being discarded matters not a jot. So you object to them because you feel distress when you wear them or because people are not disposing them correctly? Make your mind up. It's quite simple, if you wear a mask you minimise the chance of you passing it onto other people. It's not rocket science. But if you're more interested in conspiracy websites then I'm afraid there's not much hope for you. You might get killed by the Prince Phillip after he turns into a lizard.silver_fox wrote:I was happy to social distance but I’ve said all along masks is a step too far and the evidence is weak that they actually make any difference.
