And why did you copy and paste the same clip, "mate"?

Stupid PDAs today.
Collection routes couldn't be downloaded. A problem in all offices, apparently.

That happened in our DO today as well today so I guess it is a complete network event when it occurs. I put a fully charged battery in my PDA before I left for delivery but it fully depleted about halfway through my walk. Therefore I couldn't scan two of the boxes I empty on weekdays so they will fail. I wasn't going to go back afterwards to do them as I was about two hours over duty time after I had finished & typed a load of codes into the PDA back at the DO. We had HS2 letters for every delivery point on nearly every walk today.PostmanBitesDog wrote:Stupid PDAs today.

No news still on why the workload for Mondays & Tuesdays have effectively been swapped over and no sign of it changing back. We haven't changed the duty hours over either so the work completed on Tuesdays doesn't match what we are paid. I guess it gives some staff at MCs a longer weekend off on a regular basis but it doesn't help the DOs.
The views I express here are mine alone and do not represent the views of Royal Mail Group.

A guy in my office did that and they ended up putting a row and a half onto his walk. It was his own fault but management did put miles too much on it. Even the runners said that walk is f***** now and even they can't do it on time now.chocolatesaltyballs wrote:Making a rod for your own back.PostmanBitesDog wrote:I went too fast again today. I maybe suffering from superheroism.
PDA actuals will have you taking on an extra 100/200 delivery poinnts if you're not careful, just saying.

Work is picking up in our office now (especially the avalanche of door-to-doors that rumble in through the door), and I've been asked to take a loop off another postie's duty. So yes, I kinda figured this would happen to me, CPTNemoUK.CPTNemoUK wrote:A guy in my office did that and they ended up putting a row and a half onto his walk. In response to our first confirmed Covid case they gave us all a packet of wipes.
Bloody amateurs.

Work has gone through the roof up here, mail is back to where it was before Covid if not higher and parcels have gone to lockdown levels.PostmanBitesDog wrote:Work is picking up in our office now (especially the avalanche of door-to-doors that rumble in through the door), and I've been asked to take a loop off another postie's duty. This YouTuber (UK MEET THE TYRANTS) thinks it's pretty cool to film outside the Preston Royal Mail Delivery Office. Quite frankly, he's pretty annoying.
The RM manager in this clip, which was uploaded yesterday, proposed a straightforward hypothesis: "If somebody was outside your house taking photographs, you'll wanna know what they were doing, wouldn't you?"
But the doofus YouTuber took the hypothesis literally: "Yeah, but this is not your house."
The comments section under the clip contains some equally daft posts.

Yeah what a weirdo, and like you say the comments about rights of a citizen ECT, he could be taking pictures for dodgy reasons you never know, they had every right to question him, some really odd balls about.

I’ve seen a few of that losers videos this year (bet he’s naked from the waste down while editing his trophy videos).
Funny how he never visits army bases, travellers camps, construction sites.

A postie in south west Wales uploaded a video on YouTube today called "A Day in the Life of a Royal Mail Collection."
It's a time-lapse video of the postie doing the rounds in their van. The audio is just a combination of popular songs, and the video quality isn't very sharp, but it's okay if you're the sort of person who likes playing Grand Theft Auto V and flicking through the radio stations in the video game like me.
Filmed in the following locations in Pembrokeshire, South West Wales.
Haverfordwest,
Wolfscastle,
Letterston,
Scleddau,
Fishguard,
Goodwick,
Llanychear,
Pontfaen,
Dinas Cross,
Newport,
Haverfordwest DO

I don’t know what it was like for the rest of you today but I had nearly 3 full trays of mech, 8 full trays of flats. 30 odd oversize and god knows how many smaller packets in my bag. Not helped as we had to watch a video about collections which then turned into a heated debate about van sharing. Got out at 930 then they asked why the lapse was getting left behind
