no start finish time

Im a reserve and for the last 3 years no one senior has been able to tell me what my actual start and finish times are,as it varies depending which walk im put on. The job ad was 7am-3pm 25 hrs a week, so i would need to start and finish as the business required.

How do i go on with the new clock machines do i just need the dom to tell me whats needed? I cant be the only one on this kind of contract?

You said you overheard it in a discussion between your DOM
& union rep,if I’m not mistaken. You also stated that all PT’s nationwide were to be forced to go on lates

If the various duties have differing start and finish times, then you should attend at the times required for those duties. But you do not have to work beyond your contracted amount of hours so if you may go over because of the duties allocated to you that week, then you need to alert the manager.

So in theroy mon to weds i could 5 1/2 hours a day (16 1/2 hrs), thurs 8 1/2hrs (takes me to 25hrs) and they would have to give me fri and sat off?

I don't know how it works in your office but i'm also on a 25 hour contract, my job listing said 9:00-14:00. I work for rurals (SPDO's). I go between 18 different units. I claim the hours of the duty and adjust my start and finish times to match. So for example if i cover a walk in 1 office that is 7:00 - 14:36 i will claim 2:36 OT and start at 7:00 and claim extended if i go over or cut off if you don't want it. I don't think we have an official start time, it all depends on the walk you are covering but it will be different everywhere and i can imagine its different in the big offices.

Is your 5 hours for delivery only? if so then your start time will be the time your DOM tells you to start as long as your hours are between 7 & 3.. maybe.

Well i do get to asked to come in early to do double prep on top of my normal hours, wonder how the machine will work out if im just an 'in early' person or an 'asked to come in early to work' person?
