Annual General Meeting : 2020 Virtual Shareholder Event

Post by POSTMAN »

2020 AGM format in light of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Board recognises the importance of the AGM to the Company's shareholders and would normally welcome the occasion as an opportunity to meet with shareholders, present on the Group’s strategy and performance, and listen and respond to questions, in person.

However, in light of the evolving COVID-19 outbreak, it was necessary to make some important changes to the way in which we held and conducted this year's meeting.

In light of the measures taken by the Government to reduce the public health risks the Board considered that it was in the Company's best interests to proceed with this year's AGM, but that the meeting would be purely functional in format, focusing on the formal business only. The Board proposed that a limited number of Company representatives will attend the AGM in person to ensure that a valid meeting is held. In doing so, they observed all relevant social distancing guidelines.

To ensure the safety of all our stakeholders, shareholders were not permitted to attend the AGM in person. We regret that this was a necessary step but the health and wellbeing of the Company’s shareholders, as well as its employees and customers, is of paramount importance.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
