Do you mean when an attempt has been made to deliver it and you were not available, would like the postman to bring it when you are available?

Ring up the office holding the parcel and ask for them to redeliver back to the address on a new date. They wont be able to bring it round at a specific time, instead they will give you a window ie between 0800-1300.You can also have it redelivered to your workplace,as long as its within the same postcode or a neighbours house. If you have no luck on the phone, you can also do it online. This is the system at our office and i would think its the same around the country, but check first.

You won't beable to have it delivered to a different address if its a Special, it has to go to either the property its addressed to or your local PO. You can also ask for a redelivery online www.royalmail.com/redelivery

In callers office I hate that as we don't have internet connection in ours they get confirmed by the system in some way, but the managers don't do the redeliveries straight away and I have lost count of how many angry callers we get saying well I arranged redelivery on the Internet for the next day why was it not done. One day I will give them the real answer in that RM come up witth good ideas but imo rarely seem to make sure the infrastructure is there to cope with it.

We don't have an internet connection either probably cause we've no computer anymore!. The redeliveries come in as CLEO's in the DO on a daily basis, we have to go collect the sheets from the office, then fingers crossed the right information has been put down by the customers so we can find the item. Customs and surcharges can be paid online aswell and we just send them out when we receive the CLEO. Normally the system won't let the customer arrange delivery for the next day, I think its minimum 48 hours. We did ask for a laptop and internet connection up in Callers so we could deal with the re-del's as they come in, but that fell on deaf ears :arrrghhh

One thing to remember about this time of year though is there are more packets about than can be delivered in one day so sometime its not always possible to redeliver some thing as that area might not be done that day(oh and no redelivery's on Saturday well at least in our office !)
Together we stand and united we won (well sort of !)
