Royal Mail defined contribution plan.

Post by westy23 »

Evening.
Am receiving both my Nra 60 and 65 pension as I turned 65 in may and currently not making any pension contributions.
Am thinking about opting into the Royal Mail defined contribution plan and am wondering if opting in
will make any difference to Vr payments which are probably going to be offered soon?
Thanks Robert T.

VR payments and pensions are nw totally separate. It used to impact but I think the change was around 2016?

It'll make no difference to the chances of getting VR whatsoever.
But not paying in would mean giving up a lot of free money.

It was part of the 4 Pillars agreement in 2018.
