I have been to Japan.....the best country of earth but bloody expensive....save your pennies!!!

I have saved £400 for flights so far (flights should be around £530) and will be getting £550 after tax for my pension advice money (off Royal Mail) which is going towards my Japan trip. I have priced 14 nights at around £2500 with a Japan railcard, with reasonable hotels. I don't drink at all and will tailor my spending.
So it should cost me around £1500 after allowing for the money saved above and the pension advice money, I will get a little while after I leave.

I had to cancel my trip earlier this year thanks to COVID, so i've still got all my spending money and got the whole trip refunded.

I retired from RM 2011.
Although living in New Forest I split time between there, Devon and Arizona.
Even now still do a bit of HGV work for RM through agency, because they do pay rather well and I enjoy the banter and abuse. A lot of decent people at RM I would genuinely miss.
Guess this will most likely be my final year.
