Problem is, my van will then be off the road for a while and I'll be given a deathtrap, filthy, unhygenic skip-on-wheels reserve van. Well f that!

If the replacement van is a deathtrap then report it as unfit for use

The state of the vans are more to do with the drivers who would rather ignore faults then report them cant be filling in forms when you can be going home.

Must admit I'm a bit guilty of this if it's just summat very minor.

I've never been given a replacement van that I'd consider a deathtrap otherwise I'd refuse to use it, however I have been given some in pretty overall rough shape ie dents on every panel of bodywork with the inside in pretty poor & unclean condition.

I'd love to know the policy on this for the next time it happens, thankfully it's been a few years since I've been given a bad one, however I'd like to know is the fact that you feel it's unclean justification to refuse to use a vehicle alone?

Ah you have been given a workshop loan van as well, normally made up with bits of 20 other vans that have been accident damaged or scrapped. Wouldn’t fancy my chances in a prang in one of them.

We still have a van doing the rounds that i reported 2 years ago that doesn't lock, manually or electronically.

I wish i could report issues to someone who cares, is competent, and a leader.

As for the wipey thing, yeah damn annoying.

why cant they put shelves up on either side of the vans bags down the middle packets on the racks, simple.

I brought that idea up years ago with the office DIM, suggested having some hammock type nets as well to hold the notice left parcels out of the way, DIM looked at me as if I'd just spouted the formula for a nuclear bomb

Ok not the most serious of topics but are the Van's we drive the only vehicles that when the wipers are on and you switch off the engine then start it again the wipers stay off when there at the on position.its so annoying is this a Peugeot thing? My car a VW the wipers would still be on after restarting grrr...

I think it's a great idea. Every winter I have to change fuses and wiper blades on vans because someone has left them switched on in the winter and they've frozen to the screen. How do you warm up the van if the wipers are frozen? My family know to switch off the wipers before the ignition on our cars in winter.

Nothing works with Peugeots they are the Austin Rover of the car world today you are unlucky If the engine starts as you cannot just over look the fact these are the biggest dung heap of automobile history and you can tell where RM is heading with the equipment we are so furnished with!

But I bet that the poor fellow posties who are unlucky enough to have a Doblo would still prefer a Peugeot with nothing working lol!

Was given a brand new Peugeot Expert( ha) and within a week the near side sliding door refused to close and lock. Manager called out with replacement van. Week later, door still not fixed, the radio now doesn't work, the parking sensors have gone quiet and the wipers still frustrate me when restarting the van and they're off yet tge stick has them in the on position.
Crap vans.

Two years ago come April I was out doing a couple of 9am specials when a car coming towards me at speed lost control of his car. He went past me sideways, through a dry stone wall, hit two trees and cartwheeled into a field about 15 ft lower than the road. By the time I'd phoned for all the services and climbed down into the field he was dragging himself out of the wreckage with a clearly broken arm.

Anyway the police asked me to hang around to make a statement as I was the only one who had seen the accident. I was standing with the policeman next to the van and he said " Wow he really made a mess of the side of your van when he hit you" and I was laughing when I told him that he'd completely missed the van.
