Sounds like management propaganda to me but to give you the benefit of doubt have a look around and have a wake up call, if RM get their way you won't be able to pay the mortgage or take the kids on holiday or even be in any fit state to simply enjoy time with them.

Hopefully we wont need to go on an open ended strike and the union have intimated that it will be along the lines of slowly tightening the screws. Hopefully that means work to rule on an official basis (no cars on delivery, no early starts, meal relief's at the proper time etc) and 1 day lightening strikes. This would give the message to the top 2 that what they are doing is wrong and we won't stand for it. Also I think the union is aware of the majority of opinion in that a full on open ended strike would hurt posties and damage Royal Mail, and would only ask us to do it as a last and final resort.

Just see Dave Wards video - link below - and he has stated that a strike is the last resort and that there will be no knee jerk reactions. Very good Pod cast and worth a look Steve and anybody else who is wondering what to do. Look at both sides propaganda and then decide for your self.

I have to ask one question if the union is perceived by the bosses to be a non entity and that they say most will vote NO - why are they not allowing CWU information to be displayed in work places and not letting senior CWU members into their work places to talk to union members. Simple they are scared and know that we are in a stronger position than last year.

I have cwu members in my office, telling me that they are voting yes this time (didnt last time, in the vote that the CWU lost) They are not pissed off with all the changes RM want that they feel its the only way!

To me it shows just how f****d up RM are with their changes, alienating workers so much that they are willing to vote yes and take strike action if nesscary when in the past they have voted no!

Presuming thats the same all over the country im convinced we are heading for a good sized yes vote! 75% at least in favour.

we all have commitments of some kind,the answer is simple vote yes and fight leighton and his cronies plans.or vote no and let them walk all over you.remember last year when they enforced our pay rise on us?im sure the guy that started this thread is on a wind up,that or he's some type of manager

With reference to the last reply, I am a genuine postman, and yes I am concerned as to all our futures.
It's a very hard place out there now to find a decent job with the money we are paid.
Royal Mail has to change if it is to take on it's competitors, and we should be a little more adaptable and not bury our heads in the sand. If we don't, then I feel we are all heading down a slippery slope.
There are to many immigrants coming to our country that would love our jobs.
