Getting bored of wearing a shirt that could be mistaken for a soaking wet sponge now, due to the insane temps... Even if once again Monday was a relatively light workload.

Are you serious? :d'oh! Even a Hermes courier wouldn't be that irresponsible (and that's saying a lot).

What a horrid day, the sun kicks it up another notch. More to deliver than yesterday too, as per per the recent theme. :(

Yeah, it was a bit sweaty today. But some people have it lucky, like this person who recently applied for a job as a manager at Royal Mail:

A fellow applies for a manager's job with Royal Mail. The interviewer asks him, "Are you allergic to anything?"
He replies, "Yes, caffeine."
"Have you ever had a leadership role before?"
"Yes, I was an army sergeant for two tours in Iraq," he says.
The interviewer says, "That will give you five extra points towards employment." Then he asks, "Are you disabled in any way?"
The guy says, "Yes, a mine exploded near me when I was there and I lost both of my testicles."
The interviewer grimaces and then says, "Okay, you've got enough points for me to take you on right away. Our normal hours are from 9:00am to 4:00pm, but you can start tomorrow at 11:00am and carry on starting at 11:00am every day."
The fellow is puzzled and asks, "If the work hours are from 9:00am to 4:00pm, why don't you want me here until 11:00am? I'm not looking for any special treatment you know."
"What you have to understand is that this is a Royal Mail manager's job," the interviewer says. "For the first two hours, we just stand around drinking coffee and scratching our bollocks. There's no point in you coming in for that."

We had less mail up here than yesterday which was also next to nothing. Dread to think what tomorrow will be like.

Pretty average day today. A fair amount of parcels and letters to deliver, but all in all I managed to be done on time. :Very Happy

On the other hand, you have to feel for this poor fellow:

Yesterday finished 1.5 hours early, one of the quietest days in a long time, today 30 mins shorter and had to leave 2 bags to finish on time as they won't pay overtime, you couldn't make it up, why they can't have more mail on a Monday to even it up I don't know?.

Hopefully some of the MC staff can clarify, but maybe them working sunday attracts a premium rate that Royal Mail no longer want to pay? Our lorry drivers told us our MC was packed yesterday morning, just everything had yet to be sorted so we got a light day! Monday and Tuesday workloads have definitely swapped, Monday is nowhere near as bad as it used to be!
