No.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Why spend money burning through your own footwear?

RM shoes are free, and you can usually find a type that's decent (personally reckon the trainers are really good)

I find the regulation footwear heavy and ill fitting. I know it seems stupid to use my own shoes but they are lighter and far more comfortable than any I've tried at work. I average about 25000 steps a day on my round so for me I'm happy to spend my own money on footwear that enables me to feel pain free. I realise not everyone feels that way but it works for me

Fully agree. In 2019 I’d tried (and returned) every single pair of available RM footwear. I even took a pair to the doctors, chiropracter and a chiropodist who all said similar things - they are abysmal as there is no support for the feet. It’s no wonder I was getting horrible blisters and shooting pain up my back. Got a doctors note and started wearing my trainers - blisters and pain disappeared.

Was then assured late 2019 that the new footwear would be fine as it’s ‘been tested’ (by who?) so I gave them a go. By the end of the round I was hobbling around, my feet were burning (for me, a sign of my blisters returning) and the back pain was back with a vengeance. Swapped back to my trainers, zero issues.

I wear shoes frequently when playing in my band and for special occasions and they don’t give me any issues. The arc of my foot is properly supported, something RM footwear doesn’t do.

To me it’s simple....it’s similar to the Fiat doblo vans, RM have no doubt got a good deal for buying en masse, doesn’t matter that they aren’t fit for purpose.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

The video was picked up by The New York Post yesterday. :cool

New York Post (July 29, 2020) ~ ‘British Karen’ Wields Metal Pipe During Altercation with Neighbor
A British woman armed with a metal pipe tried to open the door of a Royal Mail van when a man approached her and demanded she back off, video shows. The 48-second clip, posted Wednesday on Reddit, shows a woman dubbed “British Karen” casually strolling around a Royal Mail van while holding a large metal pipe before a man walks up behind her and asks what’s going on.
“What are you doing? What are you doing that for?” the man asks, appearing to startle the woman. “Why are you doing that? You’ve attacked my son’s car three times. You pulled a sticker off it.”
The apparent neighborhood watchwoman then approaches the man while clanking the pipe on asphalt, video shows.
“Are you quite legal, to park over somebody’s drive?” the woman asks.
The man then starts to ask if the van was indeed blocking her driveway before telling the woman to keep her distance, citing the coronavirus pandemic.
“Don’t get too close please, because I don’t want to breathe the same air as you,” he says.
“Well you are, unfortunately,” the woman replies.
The man proceeds to tell the woman to “back off,” further enraging her, the clip shows.
“You back off,” the woman yells, now walking toward the man, whom she accused of being a “bully” and thief.
“You stop vandalizing my f–king son’s car,” he replies.
“You like stealing from your workplace,” she continues. “You’re a criminal.”
Pressed by the man on what law he allegedly broke, the woman said: “Well for one, you’re using your phone, aren’t you?”
“Well it’s good evidence, innit?” the man replies.

A second clip purportedly taken before the interaction shows the woman answering her door when the man accuses her of ripping what appeared to be a windshield wiper off the Royal Mail van.

“Why is it in your bin?” the man asks, referring to her trash can.
“I’m so sorry,” the woman says before grabbing the wiper and asking if the vehicle belonged to the man’s son.
“Yes it is,” the man says before the woman grabs the wiper and says she’s “the police,” the second clip shows.
“This is the police,” she says while shutting her door. “We are the police.”

A message seeking comment from Royal Mail reps was not immediately returned Wednesday.

Like most other people I had almost no letters and parcels today, but it gave me a chance to smash out all of this week's door-to-doors in one fell swoop. That'll free me up for the rest of the week for any potential large letter and parcel volumes as well as the possibility of crappy weather.
