Why isn't the Union balloting for work to rule and enforcing it?
Most people in my office go on about principles for a strike but won't work to rule instead as they want to get home early.
Then again, in this heat, who blames us?!
My members would rather see work to rule as they are quite naturally worried about motgages etc.
I have been trying to get my office to understand what they are doing to their jobs after job an knock came in with no success, can anyone honestly see some of them working to rule? maybe stopping docket would help if EVERYONE refused to work docket it would certainly screw it up! BUT...will some of them not be tempted! ................maybe I am just a synic.
What should be remembered is members on nights that have mortgages based on their allowances, stand to be so much worse off than the rest of us. ANYONE THAT HASN'T VOTED YET MAKE SURE IT'S A YES!!! PLEASE.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I've had this conversation with our area rep and the cwu opinion is that the problem with a work to rule is getting people to stick to it. Unfortunately I think they may be right, many aren't as dedicated as us in getting what's right and after a short time would see the short term benefits (ie overtime) over the long term results. These people would soon slip back into the old ways and our protest is wasted.
None of us want to lose pay, none of us want to walk out BUT it may be the only way to protect our jobs long term
STAND UP FOR YOURSELF . . . . VOTE YES

A work to ur 318..
Working to ur 318 shouldnt be apart of a ballot for I.A. it should be apart of a normal working day/week/job... So all the people who say that working to a 318 OR to rule.. Which is ILLEGAL NOW!!!!! 318 AINT!!!! then they miss the point of a stance that the CWU are making.. Mr D Ward has said in his video We the CWU dont want a knee jerk reaction and a all out strike is the last thing to happen if it does?? But its a show of support we have for the way we feel as RM plunder our jobs and lives!!! WE WONT TAKE IT!!! THIS SHOWS THE SERIOUSNESS OF OUR STAND!!! YES IF WE HAVE TO WE SHOULD STAND ON A PICKET LINE!! YES IF WE HAVE TO WE SHOULD MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD AND STICK TOGETHER.. YES IT IS OUR FUTURE WE SPEAK OF NOT SOME SMALL

I enjoy my job and want to keep it.
If we strike, I will be looking for a job with DHL; the place where all our work will disappear to.
I will also have to take a large drop in pay!
Some people do not know when they are well off.
Surely it is better to face the changes now and reap the rewards later. We cannot expect to carry on as normal with the clear reality that competition has been more aggresive than predicted at this stage.
Strike will hand over an unassailable advantage to the opposition and we will lose out of business and our people could lose out on their jobs.
At least with planned change we have control over what happens and if we are 'really' unhappy with where we work, we can take VR and get a job we like!
