For opeople who have had their pensions / lumpsums paid out on time, what's the time line of further correspondence after one has responded to rmpp letter of wishing their nra60 to be paid on 60th birthday please?

Further down their is a thread I started as a time line for my application for my pension (which I have appiled for at 59 years and 10 months)rks wrote:For opeople who have had their pensions / lumpsums paid out on time, what's the time line of further correspondence after one has responded to rmpp letter of wishing their nra60 to be paid on 60th birthday please?
Called "Breaking news- First RMSPS quote received, Now RMPP quote received but not DBCBS yet -Here goes - update 11,1st June pension application for Dec 20, diary time line"
Have a read of that, I give detail of the process I am currently going through and others chip in with their time line.
I have heard the time line is 17 weeks.
I started my application on the 1st June and have requested payment for 1st Nov 2020.

OK thanks, but you state you have requested payment for 1st Nov, do you have to state that yourself, As I haven't seen any tick box for a date as such other than request for payment at age 60 which I did, I know Rmsps have been notified by Rmpp now of my intentions as confirmed by them. Expecting payment at end of 60th burhday month, end of Oct

My understanding from what's been posted, is that those who want their pension at NRA will get preference, and not getting it on time represents a major failure on the behalf of RMPP/RMSPS as far as I'm concerned.
Those who are taking theirs before NRA, will to some degree get it when they get it.
I believe they aim to pay lump sums on your birthday or as near to as possible, if taking it at NRA.
You can always ask to have it on a particular day if before NRA, but there's no guarantee.
With pension payments themselves always being paid on the last working day of the month.
So Stephen may have his lump sum on the 1st November, but he won't get his first pension payment until the 30th.

Robert T is right that those actually reaching NRA get priority. So You will be first in the queue over those requesting payment early.RobertT wrote:My understanding from what's been posted, is that those who want their pension at NRA will get preference, and not getting it on time represents a major failure on the behalf of RMPP/RMSPS as far as I'm concerned.

There was no "box to tick", I just rang them and requested payment on the 1st Nov.
There are a few stages of the process and it does appear to take longer for those applying for it early.
However I have seen time lines on Capita of 17 weeks for those who are approaching their actual NRA, like you are.
I do personally know of one person, who did not receive his NRA65 to time, and this was caused by his AVCs, he ended up getting it about 2 months late, having involved the CWU trustee of the RMPP.
I also know of people on this forum, receiving theirs a couple of months late.
We will never know the reason, but it appears to be co ordination between RMPP and Capita for many of the issues.
What we do know is that everybody does get paid!
But these problems led me to apply early, to make sure I get payment by my preferred date.
They did say to me, that I shouldn't have appiled more than 5 months in advance.
I actually applied 6 months in advance.
I expect my application to be parked now, for a while, whilst others with either an NRA due date or earlier application date, get dealt with first.
I do recommend, following up regulary with RMPP and nudging it along.

I'm section B and I recently got paid my NRA60 lump sum 6 weeks after my 60th. I was then paid 75% of my RMSPS arrears on my pension a week later. They hold some of the arrears back for tax reasons. My first "regular" pension without any alterations was paid the end of June.rks wrote:OK thanks, but you state you have requested payment for 1st Nov, do you have to state that yourself, As I haven't seen any tick box for a date as such other than request for payment at age 60 which I did, I know Rmsps have been notified by Rmpp now of my intentions as confirmed by them. Good morning.
Was due my nra 65 on the 23rd may 2020.
Got the Rmpp element on time including lump sum.
But the Rmsps element administration by Capita is a absolute farce.
1st figures from them didn’t include any avc payment, amended figures
took over a month to be received and a month further on they have
asked me to prove my identity before any payment can be made.
They have been paying my Nra60 pension for the last five years for f##ks sake.
So still waiting for payment a month and a half later.
Also take about a week to reply to any emails and when you get thru on the phone
all you get to speak to is a message taker and they will pass message on to pension activation team.
Thankfully am currently on medical furlough so have time to sort everything out.

You are the second person I know that has had problems because of AVC's and they normally say that they need to be closed down before they can pay them.westy23 wrote:Good morning.

I elected to take my NRA 65 benefits upon reaching my 65th birthday during the second week of July. I have RMPP, RMSPS, DBCBS benefits as well as a Bonusplan and Flexiplan.
RMPP Benefits
Had the quotations in good time but had a problem with the first quotation as it did not address the fact that I have excess AVC's. A quick email and a subsequent phone call from second line support addressed this problem and I was sent a revised quotation. Chose Option 1A maximum pension and DBCBS fund and AVC funds as separate tax-free cash lump sums plus excess provisional AVC fund.
My DBCBS lump sum and the provisional tax free AVC value (based on 90%) was paid the day after my birthday and my pension was paid at the end of July.
None of the documentation from the PSC mentioned when the payment of my excess AVC's would be paid which prompted me to call them. I was told that excess AVC payments are paid via the pension payroll and the aim was to make the payments within 12 weeks of my 65th birthday. So I am expecting the payment to be made by the end of September.
RMSPS Benefits
I chose Option 1 A, which basically involves taking a full retirement pension of £x per annum with your AVC of £x as a Pension Commencement Lump Sum (PCLS)
There is a guidance note in the quotation that states :-
'Please note : if you choose to take your AVC fund, approximately 6 weeks after receipt of your option request, your AVC funds should have been received from the relevant AVC provider and payment of funds can be processed'
I received the PCLS from my AVC's and my pension today. A delay of a couple of weeks for the lump sum front but a couple of emails chasing RMSPS no doubt helped expedite payment.
I now have to wait for the disinvest of my AVC's and final pay calculations to be made before getting the 10% balance of my AVC's paid and any other adjustments based on pay.
